The attitude here is absolutely awful.
Absolutely, the number of our most promising young players who've been getting serious injuries over the past few years is nuts. And there's no shortage of players who've come through at clubs (including Liverpool) at 16 or 17, and had their careerrs cut short by being overplayed. Sterling an obvious one, as well as Michael Owen, both at 17, and who knows how much it affected Robbie Fowler playing so much from when he was 18.
Wouldn't be at all surprised to see Lamal follow Pedri and Gavi in having serious injuries young because of overplaying at Barca - definitely not the example to follow. So I'm pretty ok with being measured in the minutes, and erring on the side of caution.

Gakpo is a hill Slot will die on, he is a great impact player for me and the occaisional stsrt but he is getting way too many minutes. Chiesa was at least running around.

There's a spectrum obviously… some players break down more than others, but there are a significant number of examples of it not being good for a players career. And, I mean, of course - too much elite level physical strain on very-much still developing muscles and bones is obviously a dangerous game.
