Loose earth wire from hob power

I notice a loose earth wire in the cupnoard on my island.The pplug is for the ignisiton on the hob. Where should the earth wire be hooked up to?

You'd really need an electrician to advise but my guess is it was left to make an earth connection to the hob. If the hob is ceramic then I suspect the earth is redundant. The hob should be earthed via the plug anyway.

You can check if the socket has the earth connected with a cheapish tester without the need to take anything apart. https://www.amazon.ie/WK-Electrical-Socket-Tester-Polarity/dp/B09GNF5RQW

If you also have a sink on the island then it might be part of the earth bonding for that and the pipework - something you'd need to check with an electrician.
