Majority of that is plays and comedy shows for Olympia. It’s very much a comedy/theatre venue that has less and less music

If I could make a suggestion, would it be worthwhile to remove 2026 from the title of the thread so we just have one single gigs and events thread going forward? Given that Vanilla doesn't need thread rebooting, it might streamline conversation?
Would it not be confusing if people start talking about future gigs ie one's touted for 2027 ?
I can't see how it would be. The thread is primarily for announcements or rumours of future gigs. If x band are playing in December 2026 or January 2027 is there any actual benefit of having two threads (now that there's no technical requirement to close and open new threads).
It happens all the time anyway so you end up with a bunch of double posts in the current and future year's threads…

We don’t get skipped nearly as much as someone would think. A few big names have missed us lately, Foos, SOAD, MCR, Beyoncé, now Bruno Mars, which is enough to keep the narrative alive, I suppose.
But we can’t always get everything up here in the big smoke. Most tours still circle back once Europe’s done, so I wouldn’t be writing the eulogy just yet. Maybe we'll get on the next leg or tour.

yeah. Some of those have like MCR have playef post Covid. by European standards Dublin isn’t even a top 20 city. So if Bruno Mars or whoever has time for 6 cities or so in Europe it’s always going to London, Berlin, paris, amsterdam and 1 or 2 other cities that make logistical sense. bruno Europe dates are late June/July which is peak GAA all Ireland time so that venue was ruled out and aviva has a full slate already.

Its always baffled me. Acts and promoters charging silly money and then bragging about the "highest grossing tour" this and that.
UFC are at it now too. Charging thousands for a ticket, pricing out Joe Six Pack and then bragging about how its the biggest gate in the venues history etc.
Be like me doing a year end review with a client and bragging how we had a huge year because we charged them so much.
because those events have been gamefied by capitalism and it’s now seen by some devoted fans as proof that an artist or fighting company is better than another. there is a whole thing where WWF and AEW fans argue over how many tickets are sold for each other events. there is the whole Taylor Swift releasing multiple bonus tracks to claim no 1 album when she is about to lose it. Her fans use the amount of money she generates as proof of her superiority.
