Some mad videos emerging from Bondi beach in Sydney. Gun man opened fire. Seems to have been arrested from the videos I've seen, looks like multiple casualties.

Par for the course for the BBC
RTE won't be far behind them
The BBC never fails to disappoint: the next bit, that you can't see without clicking on the link says this:
If you struggle to understand that fear - you may not have any Jewish family or friends as it is a very small community - I urge you to think of the impact on the Muslim and, indeed, the wider community of the Christchurch mosque attack in New Zealand.
So basically "If you don't give a **** about Jews, imagine the effect this will have on Muslims and other real humans - it may even cause islamophobia". 🙄
Because they're Jews
No. He was brave. please don't drag down what he did.
A true hero. It's not always black and white...
This is horrific, and all too predictable.
It will be used to justify actions by Israel. And those actions will motivate more to act like this.
And so it goes on.
It's particularly frustrating today to realize that there is no office, individual or institution who can speak on this and will genuinely help calm the whole environment.
I picked my phone up earlier to see what the update was after a mass shooting in Rhode Island, and instead all trending articles were about a mass shooting in Sydney. It's nauseating.
12 confirmed dead
Hero
He hid behind the tree, got shot on the hand, panicked jumped up and ran only to be shot as he ran. Full video on Twitter.
Mod - this thread is for discussion of the shooting at Bondi Beach, please take all Israel/Gaza discussion to the relevant thread. A lot of posts have been deleted and two posters are now threadbanned.
Say again? What happened after the video? He had the gun etc.
In surgery so hopefully pulls through, very brave. Made the mistake of getting up and running after being shot in the hand and got clipped in the shoulder.
Appalling and horrific attack against innocent people and it should be roundly condemned and those who perpetrated it held to account.
However, listening to the nauseating hypocrisy from the mouths of vile creatures like Starmer, Macron and Von Der Leyen who have supported the mass slaughter of innocent people and children in Gaza by the IDF and Netanyahu is sickening.
or maybe incredibly stupid 😬
How is shooting Australians a legitimate response?
Mod - @AugustRain and @freebritney, do not post in this thread again.
That's what the thread is about, and that's what you were replying to:
Why are people even trying to speak to someone defending Israel? It's utterly pointless and he is only getting off on the reactions.
Yet another post where you are being deliberately dishonest. You tried all these lines before. It takes some character to keep trotting them out when you know they have been rubbished.
"Egypt could have opened the border at any time"…Jaysus, do some reading.
Don't know what? That nobody who was attacked had been in Gaza? I mean, you can open fire on a crowd of men in a pub and I'm sure one at least is a wife beater, and another a rapist - but I don't think that's generally considered much of a defence for the attacker.
RIP to all who have died in this abhorrent attack. Hopefully the ones in hospital pull through and anyone associated with this attack is caught and brought to justice.
Sorry @AugustRain can you show us the screenshots of the people celebrating this attack when you have a chance please?
Very simple question with a tight scope - How should Israel be punished for their war crimes in Gaza over the past 2 years?
And it's top of the rte news with live updates...
so it’s not genocide because they only killed 70000 Palestinians in retaliation for hamas killing 1200 Israelis?
Legal definitions of genocide say absolutely nothing about the numbers of people being killed for it to constitute a genocide. If you deliberately kill even 5% of a people, it may well amount to a genocide having been committed - the horror show of the industrial slaughter of millions of people in a relatively short period of time during the Holocaust is not remotely a good yardstick for anything. Most genocides look nothing like what happened in 1941-44.
Some of what happened then would have been, but by no means all. And let's say it was, and the Allies had respected those laws - Hitler would almost certainly have won, right? I mean, they very nearly did win even as it was.
You really think that would have been the best outcome? I think that's an excellent example of a luxury belief.
ETA; I've just seen that you think you can mindread. FFS.
When talking about critical, then be critical! There is a very big difference between calling Israel out for genocide and being anti-semitic. The question is why are YOU supporting genocide, because that is what you do when you repeat this kind of drivel?????
at the time of writing your post you knew nothing. All speculative. Deal with it
You know well what he is inferring. People around the world might not be able to influence Netanyahu's behaviour in Israel. Nobody is saying the Jewish in Australia or anywhere in the world are responsible for Israel's actions but Jewish people outside of Israel are certainly vulnerable as a direct result of his actions
Every time a terrorist attack happens some people are far more concerned about the anger towards the religion/ideology behind the attack than the attack itself and try to deflect from the perpetrators hatred of the west (despite them choosing to live there).
