hi
zero talk of this and it hasnt seem to sell well, any amount of tickets there, im looking forward to it if no-one else is! 😄
Very excited for this, I don't know how but I haven't seen them before and been a fan since Mona Lisa Smile.
Times:
7.10 Bria Salmena
8.00 Sunflower Bean
9.00 Wolf Alice
Don't know either support but should be in for 8pm
Yep, was fortunate to see them in Kilkenny for their warm up tour of Ireland earlier this year, should be great
I've never seen them live, but I am a big fan of their LPs and the many live performances I've seen of them on screen, so looking forward to it.
I do have an extra standing ticket that I don't need, if anyone might use it DM me.
I see that there's ferries being cancelled - if tomorrow isn't happening hopefully we'll get plenty notice. Last night of their UK/I tour too.
Surprised that there's two support acts tbh.
MCD just tweeted that due to storm neither support act will make it tonight. Doors at 7.30 instead of 6.30 and Wolf Alice on at 9.
Glad we still have a show first time to catch myself, other occasions just never worked out…held me breath when I saw the Info across screen.
Still though with about 10 hours notice, any localish upstarts fancy opening for Wolf Alice, no?
I'm now sseeing 8pm doors for 9.25 kick off…
band probably only getting in now for set up and soundcheck
Yep tweet from MCD now confirming 9.25 start
Is a 9.25 pm kick off a little late for a gig in The Point? I hope they're not restricted to finishing the set early. Be taking the 14 year old to this. She'll be disappointed that the support acts are a no show.
Incidentally resale tickets for this are now showing up for €40 or thereabouts.
wolf Alice current set only 85-90 mins so it will be cutting it just fine to 11pm curfew
just curious on how these things work…the 3arena will take a reasonable hit on the bar takings due to this, 90 minutes lost on the doors and lots of folks will get the pints in before going to the venue now, is there any clawback on that or is it just tough sh*t, cheers
Kinda related point but will bar open a little later? Don't know what time it usually closes but would imagine it's around 10ish
it’s just a straight rental fee on 3 arena. No clawback or minimum bar take. Thought wolf alice is promoted by MCD whose parent company live nation owns and operates the 3 arena. With a 100 shows a year in 3 arena not all are going to generate good bar takings, a Billie eillish or Olivia rodrigo concert might be mainly teenagers who don’t drink. and the likes of 3 arena make more from alcohol exclusivity contracts than the actual profit on a pint.
ive been at gigs and asked whens last call and several times have been told "not sure yet" it seems they decide on the night perhaps?
Hans Zimmer didnt finish till 11.12 few weeks ago so it must be flexible enough.
Thought you were on about Wolfe Tones but that’s not till next July
Fine of a few grand imposed after axel rise incident years back.
Wolf Alice's stage was delayed with the storm. They cut the support acts and began at 9.30.
But I can only say, it was one of the best gigs I have ever seen in Ireland. The range, the musicality, the production, the five individuals, absolutely superb show. Magnificent.
A show that will live long in the memory.
amazing gig
One of my highlights in recent years for sure
Incredible gig.
All the band were excellent but Ellie's voice & stage performance, presence were outstanding.
The production was really well done, nice stage props & setup.
Yeah, I loved it, sure what would you be doing on a Wednesday night! Ellie and all gave it socks, I've seen them a few times, her vocal has really become much stronger, totally different show to past ones, they put work into it for sure, pity about the sales, it was empty, their last show and it flunked, kinda felt for them, the crowd were nice but a come down from their dates in the UK no doubt,
Superb. A nice end to the year having been lucky to see them in Kilkenny and now their arena show to conclude my gigs for 2025.
White Horses and Giant Peach my possible highlights, but the whole thing was great. Well sequenced setlist, too.
She's as charismatic and talented a front woman as you could imagine.
Like all the best bits of Debbie Harry, Shirley Manson, Siouxsie Sue, Stevie Nicks, Ann Wilson, Joan Jett, Suzi Quatro etc, yet more vocally adept than any of them.
Just wow.
Not partically grounded in reality the last part, top tiers closed off alright which was expected for here when tickets went on sale.
It was a comfortable >8k show even with freebies or whatnot, Ireland can certainly be accused of a bit behind or not on it with certain acts clearly not the case with these.
2/3 x times the venue size of a Berlin or Paris and to be described as flunked in the end because the UK shows were an unprecedented success is kinda a stretch I'd think.
Don't get me wrong they deserved more bodies but as one that was there I for one think I witnessed something special.
You're completely correct.
agreed, an absolute triumph, they were awesom, I’d say in the top two gigs I’ve ever seen. Absolutely magnificent
Ellie was dissapointed about the warm ups not being able to perform and fair play to her she gave them a shout out, I suppose **** happens
Wolf Alice are the bomb
ok, i may be off the mark so, i've never seen the upper tier closed before, i assumed that it was intended to be used and due to poor sales they didnt sell a single seat up there so it was closed, there were any amount of tickets available yesterday, standing tickets were going for €35 on TM resale at about 3pm, cheers
