Lovely cars very classy. I heard they will be priced from €37,000
So that they could book them as Q2 sales and get a bonus?
All about the targets and rebates at quarter end
They registered 86% of their sales during this June, this is extreme outlier. Assuming all other registrations were sales, it would take them years to clear this stock. Are those bonuses so high they they would offset depreciation hit?
Would it help disuade you if I told you you were paying tesla Model Y prices for a smart #3?
In fairness I’ve probably talked myself out of it- there are more sensible cars for similar money out there - the range would annoy me after a while - unless there’s a massive discount sale, these will remain a second car to commute to the golf club in some leafy south Dublin suburb and for ladies who lunch appointments
Yes that's true in fairness on the range, 325km from a 49kWh battery is quite limited by todays standards in fairness. Can only assume it's a weight issue with the car
Had a power cut last night, plugged in my#1 using a v2l cable to power tv and lights etc. Worked perfectly. Got the cable from evcables.com
What sort of range are people getting now. I’m only getting 285km at 100%!
Brabus #1 version is now 36k across multiple dealerships according to DD which probably makes it cheapest car ever with acceleration below 4s.
How many seconds to the next red light will that save me?
Might get you through them 😀
I see Smart #1s and #3s on donedeal as 2026.

I wonder if that means new stock as I thought all the 2025 stock was pre registered in that big pre registration burst.
I literally didn't know these existed. Silly money. I'll forget they exist by tomorrow.
Complete and utter waste of time.
I recently advised to a friend to look at brand new pre-reg'd smart 1's in stock mainly based on 8 year battery warranty includes HV components. Today they are told 8 years warranty is just 70% warranty for battery no HV components. So it is 3 years warranty they offer only. This is ridicilious.
exact quote from https://smartelectric.ie/services/
"With the Integrated Service Package, we really thought of everything. You get a high-voltage component warranty, covering the HV battery for 8 years & HV vehicle control unit, e-motor and controller for 8 years."
Quoting myself. It seems dealer changed their mind after third time of questioning on warranty cover and confirmed that HV components are covered by 8 years warranty :)
Not a dealer I'd be keen to do business with.
So on the #3 is it a standard 8 year warranty with no pre conditions or nonsense like most EV’s? Appreciate you may not know but asking anyway - or is there any info online about the #3 being less than 8 year warranty?
What nonsense from other EVs? (Nissan excepted).
No sign of #5 being launched in Ireland. Are Smart going to keep going in Ireland?
”Coming soon” according to Fitzpatricks
https://www.fitzpatricksgarages.ie/smart
Crashed smart #3 in bargains thread. If it ends up scrapped may be handy for parts
https://www.donedeal.ie/damagedcars-for-sale/251-smart-3-pro-plus-electric/41304436
Ouch - the -#1 pro plus 2025 can be had now for 27k with zero miles - that’s certainly bargain territory when you consider what else is available at that price
Unlikely it will be scrapped given the scale of the damage and the car is practically new.
What version? The Pro or Pro+?
And is that 100% to close to zero%?
Pro. +. That’s what the GOM is saying.
Winter combined for Pro+ is 285 kms -according to database below (and converted from miles) - but you could get more with less highway driving - but what I don’t know is whether that’s 100-20 or 100 to zero
Is yours 100 to zero %?
If you switch off “aircon”- that doesn’t mean your windows fog up- it just means your climate control isn’t as vigorous - your fan still brings in air and heat- also reduce down temperature from say 22 degrees to 19 degrees and have the steering wheel heater on - this is plenty for most of our winter temps say 8-10 degrees outside - you’ll notice about a 10-15 % improvement in your KW per 100kms consumption
https://ev-database.org/uk/car/1667/Smart-1-Proplus#google_vignette
Main difference between Pro and Pro+ is range and charging speed- Pro has smaller battery meaning less range and it’s not commonly available in Ireland right now
For Pro+ You should be getting close to 270-290kms right now going from 90-20% battery with decent non- motorway driving up to say 100kmph - a combination of general driving with say a decent spell at 80kmph over that distance .
That means a winter driving range of over 300kms going from 100 to say 10%
But at 100% charge, your stated range should be approx 415kms
Your “dynamic” range, if you toggle to that , may be less and that’s based on your style of driving to date
It’s quite simple. The total range advertised is 100-0. As a is all cars, petrol and diesel and electric.
Turning off air con won’t in itself steam up the windows, once you leave some form of ventilation on, like i do in any car, irrespective of the fuel source.
“Turning off air con won’t in itself steam up the windows, once you leave some form of ventilation on, like i do in any car, irrespective of the fuel source.”
I beg to differ - my previous ICE car was very temperamental if air con wasn’t on and windscreen would often steam up at the most inopportune times
