Ridiculous stuff.
You'd think there were no real crimes in the UK to be investigated
”On the spectrum” is an extremely common term used these days- I find it’s used to cover a fairly narrow range of behaviours - a lack of empathy probably being the most common one. I know the term is also used as a criticism or term of abuse but I disregard those instances- where someone is talking about another person whom they genuinely experience as distant, very matter of fact and lacking warmth in greeting or interaction, “on the spectrum” is normally used as an expression to describe such behaviour.
I know a female who’s married to someone whom the whole of her family have had difficulty relating to from day 1- his behaviours are definitely that of someone with autism -I have known it for years- she’s only starting to admit it now.
I don’t believe that marriage will last into retirement with the difficulties his daily behaviour has caused - she’s currently stying with him for the sake of their young child.
Where am I going with all of this? In some respects I haven’t a clue where 😀
Maybe it’s just to say, many moons ago, people whom society didn’t at all understand because of such behaviours, but who presented physically as “normal”- were labelled a “daw” or simple or slow or whatever.
Is being “on the spectrum” any better? I don’t know if I’m being honest-but I know it does help me at least, if people who exhibit autistic type behaviours , are willing to openly talk about them -and I have one friend who admits she probably has some type of Asperger’s or Autistic type behaviours - and I’d agree with her- but I’ve always known that and I know she’s sometimes a difficult person to be around on occasion - but I’ve kept the friendship simply because I expect and accept certain behaviours such as minimum empathy when maybe more is called for.
But I also know I’ve lost friends because they just became too demanding and self centered - there wasn’t an ounce of autism about them - they presented as “kind” - but their actions were often far from kind -they were manipulative , condescending and just full of contradiction - personally I’d take “on the spectrum” all day over those type of pr1cks
Ps- only realised we appear to be way off topic - apologies mods, I completely forgot the title of the thread- just got caught up in this side discussion
Mod - As acknowledged above the thread has gone way off topic.
@Leg End Reject apologies for continuing the OT discussion, but the linked graph is a helpful way of capturing how people with the same umbrella condition can present to the world very differently.

No wonder his kids don't even talk to him says alot
Have you any evidence that "his kids don't even talk to him"?
'I'm still close to my children but I lost my marriage because I kept losing jobs and opportunities, it was unrelenting pressure.'
Father Ted creator Graham Linehan tells how his trans views cost him his career, friends and marriage during six-year 'nightmare' ordeal | Daily Mail Online
It's worth remembering that this thread is about the arrest, questioning for several hours and the possibility left hanging over his head for weeks of prosecution of an Irish comedy writer for a few posts on social media that a trans activist didn't like.
This didn't happen in some totalitarian state but our nearest neighbour the UK.
Absolute waste of resources which could be directed towards combatting online discourse which actually threatens and organises violence against people or groups of people.
His kids said that they don't talk to him
Like trans-activists who make death and rape threats.
Where did they say that?

There's no link , my cousin is friends with his kids and they said to her that they don't talk to him, I'm not naming names
Hearsay or made up.
11Guidance for Staff working in Mental Health Services on the Care and Treatment of LGBTQIA+ People D: The Mental Healthcare Setting/Environment Objective: The mental health setting needs to show that it is inclusive through authentic demonstrations of affirmation. Visual cues in the physical environment • The first interaction a LGBTQIA+ person has with a mental health service can send an instant message of affirmation or dismissal. These impressions are likely to have a lasting impact on the person and can affect the ability to quickly build and maintain therapeutic engagement. • LGBTQIA+ people may look for visual indicators of safety and inclusion. An inclusive mental health setting needs to show that it is inclusive in the first instance through the means of visual cues. These might include: — prominently displayed rainbow posters/flags that are inclusive of intersecting identities (e.g. the intersectional flag which includes black and brown colours to represent marginalised non-white/Caucasian people, and also includes the transgender specific blue, white and pink flag which may send a clearer message of welcome to transgender service users). — rainbow lanyards — rainbow name badges (including th
This is all just sick woke nonsence.
So condescending to them as well. They make them out to be like little kids who need their hand held constantly or highly strung horses who get spooked by everything and need constant reassurance.
Thats standard fare: they said the same about JK Rowling and even posted up pictures of the daughter she was supposedly estranged from - turned out it wasnt even her. Then there’s Sandie Peggie’s daughter where they said the same, in that case because they wanted to make Peggie out to be a homophobe (the daughter is gay). Instead the daughter, who’s an adult, has given several interviews denying all that. But why should she have to do that just because trans activists are such liars? Linehan’s children are barely adult and are unknown to the public.
FFS, rainbow lanyards and name tags. You couldn't make that up. The whole document was clearly written by activists with zero pushback from anyone. I suspect the National Gender Service doesn't meet these exacting "standards".
Probably easier to say that for a quiet life
Considering Glinner is terminally online and spends his days trolling/harassing people on twitter, along with being a modern day Jesus in the media, it would logically follow that he would have little time for his kids. Heck, he has admitted on more than one occasion now that his so called ''activism'' is more important than anything else.
We already know that his wife left him over his activism, it's not a stretch to say that it might have put strain on his relationship with his children.
He also moved to Arizona which in itself isn't a great move in terms of being a father to children living in England.
And for what?
Where would they find the time to?!
This guy is a total loser. Garden variety algo victim.
And gossip - which I thought were not allowed on here.
made up bullsh1t
Firstly his "kids" are 20 & 18. they are adults.
Secondly, he lives in the US, his children live in the UK.
Its not that they "don't talk" to him, but more like many students/adult children where the parents have broken up, there is no day to day conversations.
They may not agree with what he says, but they still respect him as their father and he takes a keen interest in their studies.
Certainly a very convenient get out when you've been challenged with a linked newspaper quote where Linehan states that while his marriage is over his relationship with his children is close.
Fits a couple of other instances in this thread where others have slipped in dubious claims about his relationship with his kids. All bits of (un) social media gossip I suspect.
Some people get very upset when their world view comes into contact with facts.
Graham Linehan being the prime example
Oh do enlighten us with an example please.
Regardless of his relationship now with his kids, I’d imagine Christmas time is particularly hard on Graham- but I’m finding it difficult to have an ounce of pity for him- not just because of what he’s done in the past that led to the end of his marriage- it’s his doubling down since - calling out old friends for not supporting him - it’s everyone’s fault but his in his eyes - very hard to have pity on someone so dogged and entrenched in all of this. If he were sitting in a pub blathering away about how unfair all of this is, I’d tell him to shut up and cop on
?
He torched his career and sacrificed his marriage and mental health because his world view did not fit with what was going on around him.
Whether you agree or disagree with him, it's hard to think of a better (or maybe worse) example of someone getting upset for the sake of their views.
Writers write, right?
