€18,500
jaysus. I was only offered 23k to trade in my 231 for a 261 recently by a Dublin garage. I said no.
Check any rattling from front suspension on rougher roads. The drop links are known to go. Not that expensive to fix in your local garage though.
Check for any clicking from rear axle on take off (open the window and listen). This is a more expensive issue.
At 30k km's it should be fine for both of those I'd say.
Lock/unlock the car a few times and see that the charge flap locks/unlocks each time. That's known to go.
Biggest one is ensure the car is on v3.2+ of the software. If its on anything earlier you will have to pay a dealer to upgrade it for you and the older software is bug prone.
What trim level is the car… base, plus, max? €18500 seems a little steep for it, particularly if its the base trim.
Thanks very much for all them tips.
its a 1st edition version.
Id have to check the version of software
Seems expensive - Mam bought a 202 1st edition from bill griffin garage a couple of weeks ago for 16k. Would want cheaper for a private sale
Within the 1st edition there is 3 trim levels…. base, plus and max. Find out which one it is.
Base didnt have a reversing camera for example.
Its still expensive though for the money being asked. I'd look around.
is there? On the ID4, the 1st edition only had 1 version I thought.
The ID3 had 1st, 1st Plus and 1st Max. The ID4 had 1st and 1st Max.
No problem, its on my way home from work tomorrow evening so ill have a look at it and see what he says.
Ill look at software version also as he wasn't able to tell me.
Mileage is very low at approx 30,000km. That why keen see too it.
Only approx. 2 - 3 years left on car before VW warranty on battery expires in 8 years or 160,000 km.
Be hard to sell car in 2 - 3 years time for good price if wanted to.
Ill view anyhow and see how goes
If you don’t need the range, consider an e-Golf Executive version instead. Much nicer interior and more fun to drive.

More fun to drive?
Yep, try one.
New motor coming next year for meb rwd vehicles. Vwid3 and cupra born . its called the APP350. Tests done on small battery id4 got 40kms more range than the APP350.
More range than the APP310.
what kind of winter range are people seeing in their id3 gtx?
I recently did a cork - Dublin - cork motorway run. Temp was 9C
21kWh/100km and 23kWh/100km respectively so a decent drop from the summer when it was 19C and I got ~16kWh/100km
that’s about 340/360km 100-0 motorway range if I’m working it out correctly on a 78/79kw battery.
Does anyone else have the Scotland flag on the digital button on the screen ? It's there all the time on mine.
You can change those.
Just replaced the charge port actuator on my wife's 212 ID3. Wouldn't open for us at all and none of the suggested tricks online worked. Got the part on Amazon for €19 and had it done in about 20 minutes. Delighted as apparently dealers charge €600+ for this!!!
Still has the SOS error after the last update. Has anyone had this fixed for free out of warranty yet since it was caused by the update? Dealers want to charge a diagnostic fee of €150 per hour to even look at it.
Great result on the charge port. Might be useful to others if you posted a link to the €19 part and added some info on how to swap it out. Lots of MEB cars coming out of warranty now and it’s a pretty common fault.
On the SOS module, pulling a fuse to reset it would be worth a go if you haven’t tried it already. Is it an NCT fail if not sorted ?
Good shout! I found this guide to be pretty comprehensive.

Part I used was this one-
https://www.amazon.ie/gp/aw/d/B0CNBL4CFP?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
If desired, you can also decide not to connect the electronics at all so the door never locks, and therefore never gets stuck closed again.
Not sure the SOS module is a fail but it's annoying seeing the warning on the dash! Will try the fuse idea but think that might only work on newer models.
Was it hard to pop off the cover? As in the whole black charging flap hinge cover that the actuator screws into the back of?
Did you have to use a trim removal tool or how did you get it off thanks?
The painted cover over the flap came off easy enough using a couple of suction pads and pushing it towards the front of the car. Just popped off.
My charging flap was locked closed so I used trim removal tools, starting at the bottom, to pop out the clips. I think there are 2 at the bottom and 2/3 at the top, each marked by a small indent where they are located. Needed a decent bit of pressure and a fairly strong tool to open them, but all came out without anything breaking.
Then I could lever the whole thing out, disconnect the electrical connectors, unscrew the actuator and twist it off the flap from behind.
well done on the actuator.
the dealer should fix the SOS error for free. Once confirmed that it was caused by the update (it was) then the diagnostic fee should be waived. That was my (out of warranty) experience anyway, just be firm and clear that VW caused the problem and you shouldn't be paying.
Is this new model in Ireland? Just came across it on YouTube.
2026 Volkswagen ID.3 Finally Makes Sense…
I dont think that is a real video at all, I've come across plenty like that. Just a video someone made for clicks
that’s an AI generated fake video for clicks.
Definateky fake.
Normally when car companies bring out a new version of a car, it is slight changes.
Thats a completely different car shape to the ID3.
