Toyota joining the game too late? I guess it’s hard to answer.
The BZ4X will turn some heads once it hits the road. I suspect it would be well in and above the RAV4 price range.
He was a pretty relaxed driver to. Said he used to drive like a lunatic but realised it was pointless. Only passing on what he said I've no evidence otherwise. Felt like a nice car to be in n
Are the BZ4X and the CHR+ basically the same then?
I don't doubt you as I've heard it from others too, just hasn't been my experience.
Same platform, different size battery. Really odd that the chr got the larger battery.
My 23 reg is quite thirsty in the cold. It's the heater. I can see a significant difference when it's less than 5 degrees. Maybe it's been updated.
Chr has different chassis, so can take different battery pack, probably not able to redesign bz?
Also I have a suspicion that increased range in new model could be that they have included the reserve tank. Nearly 30km hidden below 0%. Or maybe motors and cells have been improved.
I still like the car tho
Ya, my version has a heat pump, maybe that explains it. 🤔
Difficult to get the exact info but I think this is addressed in the new 2026bz with a 77kWh gross battery and I think 73 odd useable. Maybe they have tweaked the motor as well for more efficiency? - anyway range should be better.
Chr has 77 usable from what I've read online though.
It would be nice if Toyota could just put it up clearly on their website- gross and useable. Per EV database CHR+ is 77gross/72 useable. You'd imagine the bz should be the same but you wouldn't know with Toyota.
Actually, just found it on their website.

Will be trading in my white bz4x sport 251 in early January, 20,000 km, if anyone is looking for a bargain, pm me.
You buying a new one?
No, getting the refreshed Ioniq 6. We're going back to being a one car family.
Little things like memory seats are important, the Mrs nearly touches the windscreen while driving, takes me a few minutes to adjust everything to my liking so driver profiles will also help.
54k for the bz with these features is nuts, if I could've got the AWD for around that price, I would've gone for it.
I really like the new Ioniq 6 and could be an option once we don't need buggies anymore so we'll stick with the Ioniq 5 for the moment.
I think Toyota have gotten the price wrong on the Bz with everything else looking a bit cheaper.
Agreed, 10k difference seems mad.
That's Toyota for ya, they were always more expensive than the other brands they aren't going to change now.
You could put it in this thread with a few pics.

What’s the ball park price on it. I’ll ask around.
Trade in price is 32.5k. 👍
Solid review of facelift. As a few owners said in comments, he obviously paid attention when he had one.
21k update. Efficiency is at 16.8kwh per 100km. Mostly down to towing, average was 14.4 from February to August. Best range I got was 450km, worst was 300km.
I've enjoyed driving it, it's a solid all round vehicle, if a little boring. These crossover type vehicles don't do it for me, practical in many ways, but no fun to drive. No real toys on the sport spec either.
Highlights for me have been the climate control and auto cruise. Climate set to Eco works really well, seats and steering wheel auto heat perfectly 👌 turn down at the correct time too. The auto cruise is the best I've used, much better than the horrible system in the Tesla M3, automatically re-engages after lane change too, incredibly smooth in slow moving traffic, a joy to use. The Tesla was like an angry driver in comparison, would speed up too much and slow down too fast.
The interior is the killer though, such a drab place to be, dark greys and blacks everywhere. Feels like the 38k I paid for it was exactly where it should be, 43k for the sport and an eye watering 53 or so for the next version up(Limited?) is silly money. Hard to believe that the car I bought was circa 53k in 2023.
Last update as I'm trading it in next week, going back to a saloon, I will definitely miss the practicality though.
I can't recall, did you stick up an ad for it here? Whatever matches the trade in offer etc. I've a vague memory you mentioned something.
Didn't bother, trade in price is decent and a private sale of that value could get messy.
https://www.toyota.ie/models/bz-touring Feel like this Touring model may end up being more popular here than the regular crossover. Good price and very practical.
Really like the look of the touring, certainly has the Subaru influence showing. Very outback. Good differentiation compared to the chr+ also.
not seeing the AwD listed, would be a great pity if it doesn’t come here as it’s the really interesting one. Rwd version is std enough with average to poor range, the AwD at least has the performance to beat anything similar to make up for that a bit.
Is there a Subaru version of this ?
Will the bz touring have V2L?
yes, the trailseeker.
I recently saw a solterra which i loved. Then the love went downhill when i realised the bumper to bumper warranty is only 3 years.
Then i saw the toyota 10 year rolling warranty that could convince me to go bz4x even though the interior is bliah comparing to the solterra.
Is the rolling warranty worth it? What type of costs are we talking about annually with toyota?
Any real world advice to go either way?
Thanks in advance
