They just hike the prices up now, dont even bother to call it dynamic pricing or platinum, its just outrageous.
Just selling the mad priced seats early... no doubt they will be recycled as normal seats when they dont sell. Chancers.

Yeah I'd say so eventually but they'll hold out til the last minute. Have a look at the Weeknd tickets, the premium ones have been sitting there unsold since it went on sale.

Not to pick hairs, a reduction because of lack of demand at the advertised price is dynamic pricing. Just not on the upward scale.
Dynamic pricing is real time algorithmic price changes based on demand. Manually reducing the price months after the fact might meet the dictionary term of 'dynamic' but thats not what dynamic pricing is. Thats my understanding of it anyway! And I hate ticketmaster as much as anyone.

Try buy tickets to a gig in the US with actual dynamic pricing and the prices of standing tickets will change literally minute to minute. People in the same standing section will all have paid different prices. Same with seated tickets. They are automatically changed in real-time. Having 1000 seats at €150, 1000 seats at €120, 1000 seats at €90, and then an actual human making a call days/weeks/months later to change the price if they haven't sold is not what dynamic pricing is generally meant to mean.
AFAIK actual dynamic pricing has not been used on gigs in Ireland. People said that it was used for Oasis but it 100% wasn't.

I get why newer bands have their tickets priced high. They are making feck all money on streaming/album sales.
We don't pay for music anymore, so we pay via ticket sales.
However, GnR made their money in the 80s and 90s with record/cd sales/licensing/merch etc., so no excuse IMHO.

that 90’s money never materialised for bands like them. Between tax man, agents, lawyers , managers and ex wives etc I doubt many could of retired to lifestyle they wanted hence reuniting for millions each
The melodrama in here is genuinely impressive. You’d swear Guns N’ Roses had dispatched Axl to personally extort you on the doorstep. My standing ticket was perfectly reasonable, I managed to buy it without consulting a financial adviser.
If you can’t go, that’s perfectly understandable. Life happens. But the relentless recycling of the same grievances is starting to feel less like commentary and more like performance art on here.
And honestly, you’re not obliged to attend every gig that flashes across your screen. Most of us are more than willing to travel for a show we want to see and this one easily makes the cut for alot of us.
If the cost offends you, there’s a remarkably simple solution: don’t go.
As for me, I live near the venue and I’m genuinely looking forward to the night. Some of the snide remarks made recently about people outside the capital are unnecessary at best. Music isn’t supposed to be territorial or divisive. If anything, it’s nice to see enthusiasm coming from everywhere for what should be a highlight for next year for some of us.

Enjoy the gig but the prices that were posted are stupid, I don't think anyone got too dramatic about Axl and Co. At worst a few people asked when are enough people going to pass on attending to the point that it hurts the band/promoter/ticket merchant.
It's not really about affordablity either, You can have a spare 5 euro in your pocket and still decide a take-away coffee is too expensive for what it is.
Not keen about the Dublin/Rest of Ireland stuff myself but its not related.
€70 to see them in the 3 arena in 2010 and 2012
€90? For the slane gig in 2017 and Marley park 2022

Bands don’t charge a flat fee. It’s dependent on capacity and the gun n roses that was touring in 2010 and 2012 wasn’t really them as without slash and duff and it was after an economic meltdown.

I think that there are fundamental steps that can be taken to stop the extortionate prices, the monopoly of Ticketmaster being the primary one.
I've no problem with the market determining the price, but I do with TM being allowed to act the bollox.
For the millionth TM don’t determine ticket prices. ticket prices are agreed between bands agent and promoter based on the guarantee fee demanded by the agent/band. I would hazard that gun n roses guarantee is over a €1m possibly closer to €2m for a show. So dividing that guarantee into a 14,000 capacity arena means that average price will be expensive.
