New thread as the last thread seems to be broken.
Both of my kids (8 & 11) got yo watch the draw in school today.
It reminded me of our national school in the late 80s/ early 90s - obviously we had no TV in the school but my parents owned a small portable TV with bunny ears and on the day of Ireland qualifier matches (often played midweek during the middle of the day), my mother would drop it into the school and the entire school (only 60-70 kids) would crowd into one room to watch the match. It was unbelievable craic
If I was Czech I'd be disappointed as we're the toughest of the Pot 3 teams that they could've drawn.
But they'll feel the home advantage will tip the balance.
Schick is a quality striker though.
I can see us drawing 1-1 and going through on penalties.
Adversity can bring people together though.
Beer!!
The last round of games really has reached everywhere.
Booked flights yesterday, near zero chance of a ticket but, even of we don't make it in the end, it's hard to put a price on still alive in the competition for the next four months
Direct to Prague?
How much?
On another forum people said they're getting the sleeper train from Brussels. 15 hours!
Stopping in Brussels.
Booked it at lunchtime yesterday
If we beat the Czechs, will the home game against Denmark/N Macedonia be included in the Aviva season ticket?
Or will season ticket holders have to buy it as an extra?
2 flights over and back? When's the return flight?
Enjoy.
It'll be mighty craic without a ticket. Even more so if we win.
Almost certainly an extra.
it’s included in the season ticket. That’s why the season tickets are nearly all sold out.
are they nearly sold out? Where did you hear that?
Looking on ticketmaster. There’s only some in the premium 300 sections left.
The buzz/bandwagon is back so!
Our teacher used to bring in a small telly - (Charlton era) for the matches definitely the big ones that happened to be on during school time. Probably the away games? More likely World Cup qualifying- remembered more than Euros. Everyone in larger area outside the classrooms. Think was the only time some lads paid attention. Obviously no homework that day too.
Phones are nearly as big as that telly now I would say. Always seemed like the reception was from space or the moon. Echoing or delayed commentary,”we apologise for any technical difficulties”
“Turn it up, teacher!”
The emails for the season tickets say "Priority booking for March play-off matches"
Priority booking for March play-off matches"
If we happen to win in Prague, its only 5 days until we meet probably Denmark in the final at the Aviva.
That will be a manic few days for fans, the Fai, Ticketmaster trying to get all the ticket logistics done. Its not like you can sell tickets early for a game that might not happen.
I think someone has already said that a game WILL happen. It might be a qualie, or might only be a friendly. But it makes the FAI logistics easier.
LEGEND!
I think they'll sell early as a friendly is organized.
A friendly against Macedonia would be the grimmest occasion ever.
Can anyone tell me why the original version of Put em under Pressure isn't on Spotify?
There only seems to be an acoustic type version by a randomer.
I want to throw it on for the kids as the last week has created a great buzz.
I remember in primary school in mid 80's all weekday matches were on during the afternoon (I think Lansdown rd had no floodlights then) half the kids had notes from the parents to let them leave school early to watch the match. One teacher was not happy with that and refused to leave them out.
Wayne Rooney was right.
We're celebrating like we qualified.
Hey folks. New season ticket holder for next year here. Is there anywhere I need to register with the FAI (members portal etc) at this stage? Only have a confirmation from Ticketmaster at this point.
Wonder if there’s somewhere to get codes for discounted gear for the kids or an option to apply for a draw for away tickets and the likes.
Appreciate any input.
Ticketmaster is pretty much the portal. There's a slightly different version for logging on to download tickets etc, this one:
Republic of Ireland Tickets 2025-26 | FAI
All the stuff about competitions (mostly I think competitions for kids to be mascots, although that could be for the women's team, I can't remember) have come by email - presumably linked to the ticketmaster account as I didn't sign up for anything different.
The away portal is different, someone else might know about that - I've only gone to women's away matches where it has been a case of buy a ticket from the home organisation and turn up!
You can sell early because we know a game is happening. People will be desperate enough to buy the tickets and risk having a ticket to a dead rubber.
After reading the comment earlier in the thread about the goalkeeper jerseys, I went to check to see if there were adult ones listed (even if sold out). No such luck. It seems to be very difficult to get them. Figured I'd check the women's kit also (I've a teenage girl goalkeeper to buy presents for this Christmas, either option would work).
Discovered that the women's kit is nearly double the price of the men's
Men's jersey: full price - 70 euro
Women's jersey: full price 138 euro!!! (Even reduced as it currently is to 90 euro, it still costs more than the men's at full price). Absolute daylight robbery.
I won't be adding that to the Christmas list.
If we lose to the Czechs, the tickets for the he game will be worth less than toilet paper.
Which matches can I attend with a 2026 season ticket?
Guaranteed Entry to all home senior men’s international UEFA Nations League Qualifiers and International Play Off fixtures or Friendlies in 2026 plus access to U21s home fixtures, subject to availability.
This is what it says on the website. Seriously false advertising if it’s not included!
