Different airlines have different rules, but with Aer Lingus if you book a 'smart' fare (which is the first option that includes a checked bag anyway), then you can change your dates to any other time you want for free, just paying the difference in cost if the new date is more expensive. So that's a good option if you've any intention of ever making a trip over… I travel back and forth a lot, so nearly always have one booked at a cheap rate that I then change as needed.

You can't really book anything anyway until the draw is made for the groups.
So it's the same for everyone.
Qualifiers for the Euros and WC were always in November before so FIFA have really changed things.
I'm not suggesting booking anything but you could work out a rough itinerary and ring every cousin you know for digs.

think the draw in December will tell people, even those in playoffs where they are going to be playing games, so will help a bit with logistics
I will be happy to play then in the spring though as that would mean we are in the playoff final.
Draw for the World cup groups is on Dec 5th so you'll know what cities and dates we get and can make plans.
Agree with you about the Denmark game against Scotland they really did dominant large spells of that game. But hey if we are playing Denmark that means we are in the playoff final so all good. On the old Vikings bit you gave me a good laugh with that banter. On a historical point of order though most of the Vikings who invaded Ireland were from Norway the Danish Vikings mostly invaded England.
