No other sport gives you that. Yes we may have to watch 100 crap games for 1 like that, but they are worth the wait.

UEFA/FIFA don't take any chances on making sure if the big boys fail to win their group they get to play at home in single match playoffs.

Look, I'll fully admit that by the 75th minute or so, I was pretty much waiting for the inevitable. We've all been there several/many times before.
But wow. Amazing resolve.
Hungary were the better team, I would say, over the 90 minutes. Created more chances (I'm pretty sure at least) and looked generally more comfortable on the ball and dangerous.
BUT SHUR FÚCK IT. ONLY STAT THAT MATTERS: 2-3 IRELAND. WHEEEEEE!
Wales are guaranteed a play off due to the nations league but need to win at home to go into pot 2. A draw puts them in pot 4.
Tell that to the guy who built them that stadium and pumped tons of money from a basket case economy into the bread and circuses that is Hungarian football.
