Lazy journalism. They claim they plan on opening3 more stores before the end of the year but fail to say where.
maybe the company haven’t announced the locations yet
1 opening in the retail park near the ball in Naas
My monthly prescription has dropped from ~60Euro at McCabes (my local) to 8Euro at Chemist Warehouse. FFS like.
It's insane. For some reason they haven't opened one in Waterford so I drive to Carlow, meet my friend for lunch and pick up my prescription. Even with petrol and a good lunch I'm saving nearly €150 on a six month supply.
I'm surprised they haven't taken the Argos unit which I believe is still vacan
Town centre doesn't seem to be their thing. If they went into Argos it would really set the cat among the pigeons. There are at least 5 pharmacies nearby and then Shaws cosmetics department.
My experience with Chemist Warehouse is 50% cheaper prescriptions. €5 for penicillin instead of €10 from most of the other chemist's.
Very busy though, can be over an hour wait.
I see "Normal" are opening in Ilac centre and also Northside SC.
This is a HUGE chain.
900 stores around Europe, plan for 20-25 in Ireland.
Think Chemist Warehouse without medications.
Unlike others they don't show pretend rrps and don't do "special offers" or buy 1 get 1 free.
They simply have a permanent low price on goods.
Never heard of them. They have 900+ stores since opening 2013! https://www.normal.eu/
Normal, the Danish retailer who sell "completely normal products at abnormal prices" are opening at 8.30am 19 November the ILAC Centre
they really at this stage ought to have a functioning searchable website for the Irish market….having a catalog you just scroll along through is a bit 1997….. every other country I’ve checked has a fully working up to spec 2025 website…that you can also order on…. they opened here in 2020, come on ! 👀💀
I was in Stockholm last week, it is an expensive place but Normal was absolutely jammers with bargains.
Skin care and sweets especially (some stuff I have never seen before) I think it will go gang busters!
Does anyone know if Chemist warehouse sell any liquid forms of antihistamines similar to Zirtek? We've kids who will only take the liquid form and the costs add up when you're getting a bottle every 2 weeks or so.
I remember looking before and all they had was the tablet form of antihistamine.
They sell Zirtek 30 tabs for 3.99. You can look through their list, send an enquiry email
Maybe crush the tablet and mix into a yoghurt or Petit Filou?
Seems very hard to contact them. Emails bounce and they don't answer the phone. Was interested to see their price on some repeat medication I take.
Have a look at the prices from online chemist Inish Pharmacy based in Donegal. Branded 200ml Zirtek is €16, and they have generic 200ml versions (Cetirizine) for €10.
The catch is you can only order 2 bottles per order and for free delivery it's €50. But you might see some other bargains in OTC meds, toiletries, gifts etc to make that up. Delivery is usually by An Post.

I’ve spoken to the one in Dun Laoghaire a good bit by phone, might be worth trying there.
I've spoken to them in Carlow a few times. I always call to check the details a couple of days before I collect my script. No way emails should be bouncing.
I rang Carlow today re a script they answered quickly
They should all have the same prices so any you can get through to will be able to tell you the prices.
I'm going to be there on Monday for a cheap prescription of my own. If you want to pm me the name/dosage of yours, I'll ask for you.
Are you sure you have the right email? I had no problems communicating with Limerick by email buy a friend said she was getting bounced ones, turns out we were using different email addresses, she found hers somewhere online but was wrong format.
PS looked it up, my friends one had 'healthmail' in the email address, that's the wrong one.
Healthmail addresses are for doctors to send the prescription.
yes I know that and that's why my friends was bouncing back but she came across that email somewhere online when she was looking for the address.
What do you expect? It's a discount chemist. You pay for cheap products. They have to make cost savings on customer service.
I've found their customer service to be as good if not better than any other chemist I've used.
No problem on the phone, always answered very quickly. Monthly meds were €80 a few years ago. This dropped to €65. With CW I get three months supply for €80.
What's the deal with ordering from Spain with a prescription? Is this possible?
It is an offence to import same by post.
How about non prescription?
