I wish they would go there but since Cooney left Athenry the Conroy's have a monopoly on it again.
The annoying thing is when Cooney was there Conroy was able to up his price to get lambs 🤬.
Now obviously I don't be watching every mart in the Country but Athenry would be consistently behind the couple I do watch on a Tuesday namely Tullow and Blessington.

I've 20 horned ram lambs 44kgs in the shed
I've also got 60 crossbred ewe lambs (35kg) out in the field. I'll be selling 20 of these.
With Ramadan on the start of march will there be any lift next month

I sold cull ewes in tullamore yesterday. 85kg €192, 65kg €162.
We were in the first few lots, but the trade was disimproving as time went on. I saw 85kg suffolk ewes selling for 160 and 106kg selling for 202 . I'd say ours were €20 - 30 ahead of the factory
What way are prices for ewes and lambs? Very quiet here.
I got a call from baltinglass last week looking for sheep. Either there is demand or they are really struggling. Didn’t have any anyway
interesting, I honestly don’t know how the are keeping the price down, the sheep kill for 2024 and 2025 has been terrible. Sheep kill way down don’t know where they are getting the sheep
Drove by there yesterday around 12 and there wasn't many trailers in the yard

Are navan better for small horned lambs
No difference in any i find to be honest.i have chatted men who would live near navan and drive to kildare and visa versa.
any pricing?
€8 for monday to 23kg.
Men who buy stores out of maam say dawn cut for the light lamb, but navan have a particular day (Tuesday i think) for light lambs, all third hand

50kg were making €220 in local mart last Wednesday
Absolutely flying it in Athenry today too.
Prices slightly ahead of this time last year.
Just typical though that the factories are able to give a big rise in price and pay to 23kg when the majority of Hoggetts are gone.
A lot of the men who feed lighter lambs over the Winter haven’t made much off them this year in comparison to last year.
They may not be in a rush to buy lambs next October!
They made nothing off anything killed at less than €8.
Which, like you say, was most of them. Kept a bunch this year that I should have let go as stores...
Ah I think there's always a new bunch of suckers to buy them every year 🙈
I reckon they only make money 1-2 years out of 3.

Prices for Spring lamb in Tullow today, check out lot 403 the second time they came into the ring ☺️, very big numbers of cast ewes and hoggets
They must have been nice ewe lambs for breeding
