No, but I saw the Grandam 'NEWTOWN HARRIET ET' selling a few years back and she was a smashing heifer. Her offspring were also sold back to France. Ruben is by Lexicon, off course and I already have 2 bulls in the pot with Lexicon breeding.

yeah I got straws from them 2years ago. No problems but expect to wait 2 weeks rather than 1. They only have a couple of guys on the ground
autumn calvers out with hay and 2kg of meal a day. Is this good enough for them or would they be better off inside? I know I’m unlikely to catch them bulling with the short days but il prid them when they come in at the end of the month.

there is some great cow makers in there in fairness. Bel orient looks a good bull I used to have a stock bull of his sire neuf and any of the females left in the herd have being top class so think I’ll get some straws of him. Also have some Nebbiolo and moebius got.

yeah they had lots of milk in fairness. Probably should have kept more of them looking back but I have a granddaughter of one of them and she had an Orbi bull calf as a heifer and that bull is 500kg plus now ( would be sold only for tb) was a biggest calf enough and calved unassisted so good ability as well.
I have a PBR Neuf cow here and she is on her 13 calf. Never had to touch her hooves. She has loads of milk, went back in calf last year 3 weeks after calving. Not the quietest, but everything she bred was a pet. I heard Doreen Corrigan say once that every breeder she knew, loved their Neuf cows.

there is a new French bull Ruben gd he has an nt gene I didn’t think the French used the nt of q genes? Also on the English breeding they would say they pushed it up a notch and improved there breeds confirmation and carcass weight. I’m not saying that is the correct thing I’m only saying what they would say. I like the French bulls for maternal and do use the others from a terminal
What type of cow did Neuf cross best with? Did he add height? I came across a few straws at value last year, I must use them. John McInerney brought in a Neuf heifer from the foxhillfarm herd a good few years back, she won Tullamore. She was a massive heifer, you could walk a wheelbarrow between her front legs!
Ya, my Neuf cow is tall and leggy. Very different from the modern types. By the way, Vulpian LM6358 and Casimir 65 LM2065 are both by Neuf.
So is Bel Orient. He’s definitely left his mark. I’ve a small sized Lexicon x Foreman cow I’m always trying to add size to. I’ll earmark him for her. She has a Leopard heifer at foot this year, and is back incalf to Haltcliffe Dancer. She has loads of stars, but small, just like ICBF like them!
