Exactly this. Personally I see the cars as just the cars. I don't really care what Musk does in politics and I am not overly worried about human rights issues and slave labour in China. What are we going to do, boycott all Chinese products, LOL? Might as well go back to living in a cave
Interesting though to see how some people have such a fanatical and irrational hatred of some countries and / or people. It keeps coming up in this thread alone all the time. Although they seem to be the same few posters (and thankers) over and over again. Most people in here seem reasonable people
Imagine taking it so personally that you respond to a poster talking about another poster. And not even quoting you.
Have you considered you assumed I was talking to or about you ?
... I mean there's something in that. At no point did I refer to you.
At no point did i say you did?
imagine imagining ………..
This is a community discussion lad. No invitations needed if anyone wants to chime in.
Perpetuated by the people who come along here making sure everybody knows they are able to have a moan instead of contributing to the debate
Yep, completely derailed by the usual anti-Tesla curmudgeons*
* a new word I learned from my grandad this week and it seemed appropriate considering some of the mean-spirited contributions.
Hadn't realised numbers facts and figures weren't allowed. Actually no sorry thats exactly why the share price is as it is.
They dont matter 😂😉
I guess BYDs sins are easier to ignore because they don't have a high profile CEO.
Had a quick google and Amnesty international have published a ranking of EV makers by their record on human rights including labour, supply chain, impact on indigenous people etc. and the rankings turned up some real surprises, some companies you wouldn't expect need to do much better, some who you'd think are offenders are higher up, though no-one is exactly getting a gold star here either and even getting over the "adequate" threshold.
New human rights ranking of electric vehicle industry exposes laggards
Facts and figures 🤣 only if you think it supports your narrative to be fair.
Q3 sales up, there's extenuating circumstances, model y and 3 best selling EVs in Europe but but they sold less than last year
No sales in India , same as almost all other non Indian ev manufacturers...
In the wake of the new 'standard' models and seemingly the old MY rwd sr being dropped in favour of the lr, was wondering if this will apply to the M3 sr going forward as they have done in USA. Would be shooting themselves in the foot I feel.,
if you mute them, you just see a page of shaded comments 👌
dont take yourselves so seriously lads, if so all we will have left here is people fretting over the vibesy share price and throwing shade at people trying to flog their used Teslas privately, where is the fun in that.
It was launched in Italy. €24,990. That is some fecking bargain.
Italian Gov incentive and Tesla discount
Could an M3 bought in Italy now be the best value new EV in the world? 🤔
For sure. Thanks to the extremely generous incentives though. The Model 3 standard is arguably the best value EV in most countries it is sold in. With or without subsidies. Provided those subsidies are applied equally to all EVs and there are no import barriers
Just reading through that theres serious conditions attached, I think its lip service and extremely unlikely to be taken up by many.
Must be living in urban area, ok, most will be
Must scrap a euro 5 car as part of the deal having owned it for 6 months, so add a few k onto the 25k price for not being able to sell it if I understand that right
Must have household income under 30,000 euro (ISEE seems to be household income in Italy used to determine social benefits), nobody with that income should be spending 25k on any car
Can not sell for 24 months, fair enough, shouldn't be buying new cars and selling before then anyway
Agree - the pool of buyers is a corner case within a corner case.
Great to see good value new cars though.
Household income under €30k? LOL you could barely afford to run a free banger on that.
I could be wrong on eligibility but thats what it says, 30k or less
So its a low income subsidy by looks of things
Imagine doing that in Ireland !
This would go down a treat in ireland with the massive amount of people who are "on paper" low income, but in reality very wealthy. Self employed who stop doing invoices as soon as they hit the 44k threshold and only do cash jobs after that.
Just like how those Irish can still buy nice cars, I think you would find there's quite a few among the Italian taxpaying population who have sufficient financial planning in place to be compliant (paperwork-wise anyway) and who just happen to be able to afford a Tesla. Of course, the thing to be seen is whether they actually want to buy a Tesla.
Do we expect the new Model 3 Standard to be on sale in Ireland?
If so, when would we expect to see it, next year at some stage I presume?
Nobody knows, but I do expect it to become available for ordering at some point. The Model Y standard was available to order very soon after the initial announcement, but they are made in Germany. The Model 3 standard for the EU market is made in China
Yes but would it replace the current RWD standard range though leaving the cheap base model with the long range the next model up as seems to be the case in other countries.
Most likely. But only time will tell. Personally if I were in the market for a Model Y / Model 3, I would very likely buy the new standard version, provided it had autopilot or I could transfer my FSD for free. I don't care much for any of the other options they got rid of. I do care about keeping €5,000 in my pocket 😁
Yes the options removed on the Model 3, wouldn't bother me really at all, i.e the rear screen and the manual adjustment for some controls.
When you have the access to the Supercharging and range, it'll be a very good buy.
I'm currently driving a Cupra Born, and it's been a great car to drive but not without it's niggles. All covered under warranty thankfully.
Could we see the standard range around €32k, I wonder?
Yeah would have a look at one alright if they arrive here ,a lot of stuff missing though - wheel covers look very cheap and cheap steel wheels underneath as well,no auto steer ,no radio, the suspension changes would be a worry as well but sure price would be interesting on the plus side, we'll see,,,,,,, 😁
What suspension changes?
Passive shocks Vs frequency dependent shocks apparently.
