They're just not doing one way trips like asked about where they have no hope of a return trip and will lose money.
I've a friend whose a taxi driver in Tralee and just doesn't waste his time on those kinds of trips
They're not.
Sorry, what’s this? Taxis are now charging for return to where they picked you up!?
Difference is he'll pick up a fare around town. He's burning fuel and 45 Minutes and has no customers to pay for it.
No taxi driver specifically charges you for the return journey of an empty cab you are no longer in! The time on the meter of the journey to your destination while you're in the cab is the fare. Same as if you were going a kilometer to Oakpark or Monavalley. I
FWIW breakfast buffet at the Brandon was great!
Plus, there's lots of options like the train or TFI to get to/from Killarney/Tralee.
Cheaper to stay the night in Tralee. Taxi will probably want payment for return to Tralee and payment up front
You're looking at about €70 depending on time and exact location of pick up and drop off.
And I would definitely pre book it in advance, especially if you'll be going around the same time the pubs and stuff are closing. A fare from Tralee to Killarney isn't appealing and they could refuse to take it when they can just stay in Tralee and get the same amount or more from lots of local fares.
Will be at a wedding in Tralee on Saturday night, just wondering approximately how much would a taxi back to Killarney be? And I assume/hope you don't have to book in advance, there'll be a few floating around?
If you fancy a spin to Tralee, you have the Little Cheese Shop up from the Garda Station towards Strand Street or else Sheridan's cheese counter in Dunnes Stores
Not strictly related to Killarney but would anyone know of a decent deli or the likes that sell a nice selection of cheeses / salami/meats?
Other than the normal selection in the supermarkets unless anyone has a recommendation for one of them?
I imagine it will only apply to shops in the area. We don't be able to get PC prices in Kerry😭
Forget that. It clearly says shops in the republic 😁

Big Power City fan and have bought a load of appliances from them, but the price promise from DID will be handy for picking up well priced appliances locally.
I always found them more expensive than most others when living in Dublin. Now, Powercity, that would be one to get.
That's a great lease for the retail Park to get if true!

Plenty of roadworks in and around Killarney in the coming weeks between Park Road, Muckross and St Margaret's Road.
Anyone know what’s going into the old New Look shop in Deerpark?

I have always wondered who owned those house and apartments in the old Loreto school site. Are they all owned by corporate landlords I wonder or are some in private ownership?
Tesco sell vegan cheese.
Hi all, does anyone know if there's a shop in Killarney that sells vegan cheese?
Anyone know what's the story with Dealz on High Street? It's 'closed for maintenance' at the moment. I wonder if that's true, and when it's reopening?
Yeh, that's really relevant. 😛
It’s like the train to Livingston, Montana in 1923 during the winter season it’s often delayed due to heavy snow. Sometimes the delay can last for as long as a week even. The winters in Montana are no place for a woman or child.
Limited train services to Dublin on Saturday 9th - seems to be due to engineering works. Was booking for family members and earliest I could get is leaving Killarney at 2pm. Luckily they can be flexible with travel time but may not be the case for others.
Killarney brewing, Fossa... It's gone, receivers in place.
There are lots of Lafufu’s around but still no Labubu’s. Popmart need to open a store in Killarney so we normal folk can get our hands on Labubu. I bought a Lafufu in Liffey Valley but it’s head fell off after about a week.
Sad to see. Nice beer and they seemed to be doing well, but maybe mismanaged, financially. The taproom on Muckross road always seemed to be busy and will be a loss. Although I've never been to the distillery out in Fossa, it looks the part, and will be some blight now if left idle.
Killarney Brewing and Distilling Company is closing, 55 jobs will be lost

I was only there once to eat and didn't think the food was great, but I'd have assumed a place like this was doing very well
I believe so.
