Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
Yeah, I was slightly on the fence (seen Sprints a good few times now, not immediately taken with the new album and heading to Liverpool the day after) but that's settled it for me 😋
I hear you, same boat myself. Hoping to be won over again at Vicar Street.
Sure, worst case scenario the new stuff doesn't land but we'll have a massive pit for Literary Mind, that alone will probably justify the entrance fee 🤣
The Haunted Dancehall back in the NCH. Moved from November to October bank holiday weekend. Fairly short notice.
Would love to see The Bug once again but i've too much on that week and had that day/night pencilled in for doing nowt, so i'll probably skip it.
Top of the morning, are oasis playing in Ireland next year? Thanks.
No
this might appeal to a lot here.
Playing Rhythm & Roots festival in Kilkenny 1st May. Tickets already on sale if it suits and body down this side. 42e all in
Got tickets for the show in Kilkenny a few days ago - anyone know would they be standing or sitting - doesn't say either way.
The Set always has a mix....downstairs standing sometimes with a small number of tiered seats behind. Upstairs generally good views from tired seating for about ×/- 100 people. Can stand in places up there too. Pretty nice place for a gig. Its generally first come first served for seats etc
Muireann is certainly hanging out in some exalted company - fair play to the 18-year-old from Donegal 🎸
Sam Fender teasing an announcement next week. Hopefully a similar tour to the one around Christmas last year
It's the release of new edition of people watching album, extra songs, including me and the dog which should have been on the album and rein me in with oliva dean from london stadium show this summer
Ah ok fair enough
Great stuff from Muireann. I think Neiler has a hand in the lineup too. Maybe he asked her.
Nice lineup for under a tenner
I love Last Apollo (though I suspect this will be a solo show and she's better with a band) and Black Nylon hanger just sold out Whelan's Upstairs themselves, they were very good at the summer Ones To Watch
Anyone been to the GS Ballroom? What's it like? It's their new space downstairs, yeah?
Mate is in Dublin next Friday from abroad and wanted to go to a gig. Has anyone seen Bleech 9:3 before?
Yep, saw them last year shortly after they started (Black Nylon were on the same night) and going again next Friday. If you know who Basht are, the guitar player and the drummer both left last year and are both part of Bleech. Don’t know what to compare them to but they’re very good imo (grungey I suppose).
Their first single just came out yesterday, called “Ceiling”.
Edit: also Brooki is supporting who I haven’t seen before, but I think sound very good
Daniel Avery live - Opium - 25th Nov
28th November. Tom Meighan is on the 25th. Avery seems to be suggesting there's a band involved. In my head i'm picturing a Death In Vegas full band-type affair. Which would be most welcome.
He is the talking about the artists supporting him on the tour dates
Looks like The Horrors on 19th November has been downgraded to Button Factory. I’m more likely to there over National stadium so will pick up a ticket
Well spotted. Tickets seem to be at least a fiver or so cheaper than the NS gig too. Will probably grab one.
Horrors and Warmduscher, that's two bad overshoots on the National Stadium for Singular Artists, hopefully they're not stung too badly
Their DIIV gig was also downgraded last month from Vicar St to Button Factory.
sure they have the likes of big thief, five etc making money for them with 3 arena shows
Better get themselves an extra two guitarists if they're playing that album.
Saw Skunk Anansie in the Roundhouse earlier this year and the sound was absolutely abysmal. Chatting to various people afterwards they all had the same experience from other gigs, I think it's just not a great venue. Shame, because it's a wonderful looking place
Thought it was great when I was there
