I got a tonne of Eco glow off Wrays last year and it was great stuff.
I collected it as I only live10 mins from their yard. They have a great set up and all their pallets are kept under shelter and wrapped.
I run my multi fuel stove (with back boiler functionality) 24/7 in the cold snaps and this stuff lasted long and had no bother keeping the rads and hw hot. Just ordered a tonne for this year off them today. Opted for Eco stove this time around to give it a go.
Avoid the Country Blend.. it contains a lot of Pet Coke which can run hot and damage your stove.
They told me free delivery is ending this month.
I got the ovoids, which has some petcoke, I think unless you're paying super premium prices, everything will have some petcoke.
Locally 1T of the ovoids is €500 +€60 delivery.
I ordered 2x 740kg from CW and I'm happy with it, but then I'm not a coal aficionado, but it's not bad coal. Had 4 or 5 fires so far.
Previous I was using Columbian & black diamond, from CW, and I last ordered agrina from the co-op back in March 2022.
I've enough to see me thru the next few winters.
Might be of interest to those of us by the Lee.
That's expensive. Very.
Still cheaper than a lot of retail outlets?
My local spar is €27 for a 20kg bag - now that’s what I call very expensive
I wouldn't say it is for one bag. My local Centra was €20 for a 20 kg bag last winter.
Another vote for wrays, ordered on Friday, delivered to Dublin today. Very nice delivery driver and friendly staff in office. Impressed, thanks to those who recommended.
Ok, for comparison.
I got 50 bags, full tonne, last September of the exact same coal from Greers for €490 delivered.
That's €9.80 a 20kg bag.
The bargain you put up 12.50 x 50 = €625 a tonne. Definitely not a bargain!
They're hoping idiots will pay that price and plenty will.
€1350 a tonne.
😂
So where can you buy one bag for €9.80?
You aren't comparing like for like.
hi click coal sent me e-mail to say from the 1 October 2025 some of there price may increase.
Good for you. Not everyone has the cash at their disposal to buy a ton or half ton to get a bulk discount. Others wouldn't have the storage for more than five bags.
I've yet to see a cheaper price than this for a single 20kg bag in Cork in the last year or so.
that’s not like for like, you are buying a full ton but someone can go to that shop and buy anything from 1 to 5 bags it’s not a fair comparison
That’s like pricing it per ton if we get 30t from Poland and then saying greers are a rip off
let us know how it burns etc ta
Isn't this a bargain thread though?
Poor excuse. Mugs get ripped off with those excuses.
Chip together with neighbours, split it any number of ways. I'd done that loads myself.
Some companies will deliver a tonne in 2 days.
There's no excuse for paying rip off Spar and Centra prices for coal.
Perhaps in a rip off thread….
But if you can only buy a few bags at a time it is a bargain so should be in the bargain thread.
Like a good doctor it's probably best you put the shovel away at this stage and save it for the coal.
Carbon tax going up it will push up the price of coal
I don’t think it’s going up until May next year €7.50 a tonne
Ordered 1T of Ecoglow (green bags) there from Wrays for £350 + £40 delivery (had to haggle a small bit!). Arrived the next day, well full wrapped.
The Pallet Network is fairly efficient - I asked yer man who did the drop off and he said the delivery went to a Dublin depot initially from NI, then sent out from there to the local yard, then onto his truck.
Thats me sorted for next couple of winters. Feck the carbon tax!
Depends where you purchase from
It'll just make it more of a bargain to buy up north.
Anyone near Fermanagh area or surrounds (i'm South Letirm)

Got 20 of the 40KG Coyle Coal @ €15.50 per bag last weekend
^Very good coal
We used half a bag over the week or so to test and can confirm same. Burns nice with a very good heat and leaves little to no nuggets like some coals do 99.9% to ash
