Clancy Homes - Any experience with them?

Hi,

We are currently looking into buying our first house and are interested in a developmend that is developed by Clancy Homes (from Tip). Has anyone have some experience with them? Anything that's good to know?

The (show)houses look well built and solid. But that's probably a given since they are show houses.

Would be nice if someone has some info on them! :)

To be honest with you, in my experience regardless of who builds your house, pay an engineer well and let them work for you and give you a professional report.

Oh absolutely, we will! But usually by then it's a bit late to (easily) back out of a contract. By the time we'd sign the contract, the house won't be completed until ~6-9 months later.

Just as an exmaple - there are some estates around here where some developers left some systemic issues inside and outside the houses that I'd like to avoid. Just want to lower my chances to fight a developer in court or something.

If you are buying fully fitted then the spec should be the same as the show houses.

"Should" is the big word here. I am currently renting and my landlords told me that this wasn't the case in this estate. Many of the later built houses had some serious issues. Some could be easily addressed through the snaglist by the engineers, others just come out over the years. But I am not surprised with this developer - saw them build some of the houses here. Trying to cut corners all the way (they had to lay the water pipes 3 times because Uisce Éireann denied approval).

That's exactly why I am asking if anyone had experience with Clancy Homes. But at least I couldn't find anything big about them so far. :)
