Greers Coal
COUNTY CORK 700KG PALLETS
Cork Local depots had refused to deliver coal but we have found a courier to deliver directly but their tail lifts can only take 700kg so we can only offer cork customers this amount per pallet
This is LPT Fuels, outside Craigavon - literally a man in shed operation. Its defo a registered Northern Irish business.
Based on @TTTT's experience I would be giving yer man a wide berth if you are not getting what you paid for.
We might have consumer rights as @Lancashire-lad says, but good luck making a claim against an operator like this in the North from ROI.
Hi all, I have never bought in bulk before but I am looking to get a one ton pallet probably from Greers. What is there best product for an Erin Stanley stove? I have bought Arigna ovoids before with mixed quality.
Is that to Cork? If so https://greerscoal.co.uk/product/ecostove-bulk-buy-700-kg/ isn't a bad buy. If not then smokeless coal express is cheaper delivered for a full tonne.
Thanks for the info. What's the best coal to get from Greers?
Not Cork, midlands. The Ecostove looks good. I don't mind paying extra if I get a good product, some of the cheap stuff is false economy.
Good advice. I am on my third year with Ecostove & it works out cheaper as it lasts so well
Delivers all over Ireland £365. Cork £385 1000kg pallets. Great quality High heat. Also do eco glo green bags £390 delivered ireland £410 cork.
just checked there I’m seeing £60 for delivery
If you message them they do £365 by card bacs or revolut. The website has extra charges that you can avoid this way.Cork is £385 either way
I did a trial on the weekend of Supertherm vs Ecoglow (greenbags) on an open fire over the weekend.
My completely unscientific method involved a 12 hr burn on Saturday for the Supertherm, and same again Sunday for the Ecoglow. Heres my thoughts on both - based purely on observation and is at best simply my opinion.
Coming from traditional polish coal and never having used manufactured fuels, I was impressed with both for their longevity and heat. Downside is the loss of ambience with a lack of flames, but given how inefficient an open fire is, thats a trade-off Im fine with to make a warmer house. I know there are blends available if this is important.
In terms of difference, out of the bag the Ecoglow ovoids had the appearance of a more consistent manufactured product, but hard to say if this translates into a better product. The other main difference was the Ecoglow produced slightly less ash (approx 20-25%) going by my bucket the next day. Again, highly unscientific and if I did it again I could well get another result.
Based on this and prices, I'll probably end up ordering the Ecoglow. YMMV.
Ecoglow or Ecostove, which is better for closed stove?
Got this message (on the 30th August) from Wrays: about deliveries to Cork…
"Good Evening
Unfortunately at the moment the cork depots are refusing coal deliveries 👎
As we use haulage companies and don't deliver ourselves cork is not an option for sending coal to at present.
Sorry for the inconvenience & thank you for the query.
Lisa Wray"
Hey guys.. qq on what coal is best.. I have a 7KW Henley stove.. would Country Blend Smokeless Fuel, or Smokeless Ovoids be better?
Thanks!
btw.. Coal warehouse doing free delivery for 3/4 tonne, or full tonne (not for half tonne.. worth getting more coal and free delivery if you can store it)
I would go smokeless ovoids. Blend has alot more ash with the petcoke content.
Coal warehouse work out dearer even with free delivery they have added the delivery into the price. I'm pretty sure if you were collecting it would be alot less than £375. Free delivery is a sales tactic👎
I prefer Ecostove & it's not that much more expensive
Hi I've never ordered in bulk before. Which coal would be best for Stanley cooker and which company best for delivery to Limerick. Thanks this is a great thread.
Got delivery from Wray on Friday. One tonne pallet, burns well.
I contacted Wrays this morning about a delivery to Cork. They wont deliver there unfortunately. My only other option is a 740kg/ 37 bag pallet from Coal Warehouse. Cost £278 / €320 which is reasonable enough I thought. Will update when I receive order.
which product did you go for ?
Thanks
it was posted here four days ago about wrays not being able to get a courier to bring a load to cork
Have you asked Smokeless Coal Express if they deliver to Cork ?
Got the ovoids from CoalWareHouse.
Had two fires so far in an insert stove, very happy with them.
They are ending the free delivery soon, no exact date given in the email.
I went with the smokeless ovids. Mikeecho commented that they were happy with the coal so fingers crossed i will be aswell.
@Discodog Re Smokeless Coal Express. I had emailed them a couple of weeks ago, they wouldn't deliver a 1000kg pallet to Cork. I never asked about a 3/4 tonne pallet.
Hi which fuel did you buy please and are you burning it on a Stove or open fire.
Hi all ordered a ton off Wrays at 3:30 on Tuesday. In my driveway in Kilkenny this morning at 9:30.
