Yep, remember it well. Lots of slo-mo, Oscar was the main man if I remember correctly.
Usenet was great.
I've got the brains, you've got the looks, let's make lots of money.
loved this but my mam was a fecker for throwing things out - got a copy on eBay recently. Best stories are "I, Mutant" and "Garbage". Kids in 1980 (including me) didn't have a fecking clue who Dan Dare was but they tried to revive him. I should have graduated from this to 2000AD but somehow didn't…

Your wristwatch is in SMITHEREENS
I remember thinking it was so cool to have a TV series being broadcast 'to them across the water' and set/filmed in Ireland with actual Irish actors and actresses on screen.
My father filled ours with a drop of white paint and keep the bottle tops so they looked cool like real milk was in them sitting in cabinet 😁
That particular one lived in our bathroom. I can still remember a storyline with Splash Gorton (the hippie with the penguin) going over Niagara Falls in a barrel. Johnny Cougar introduced me to the idea of a Seminole native American. Roy of the Rovers was the the main feature.
Cursed teletext
yip I remember the barrel.
My eldest brother has all the annuals from I think 1967 to 1979.
He was very protective of his stuff so I used to sneak a peek when he'd be out.
Splash Gorton was a bit before my time but I remember coming across him in the 80s in either an old second hand annual or maybe the strip had been reprinted in something.
I remember dialogue of his like "the hip shakers ain't my scene baby"
The owner of the house featured in that series had an adventurous life to say the least. Featured in a RTE podcast series I listened to earlier this year. Runaway Joe was the name of it.
