Before that it was called the rendezvous,it was ran by kevin Mcdonagh who also ran the Salmon Weir( now Sally longs).
But..but..nando's...;)
According to the site-safety notice on the temp fencing, it's a a "complete refurbishment of existing building for return to greybox standard".
In practice, the roof is gone. I doubt much else from the original building will be left once they've finished.
The money Nandos spent advertising that store manager job was probably their cheapest advertising ever. Just hope that some poor schmuck didn't uproot their entire life and move somewhere to train for "three" months on a low wage, with the promise of a job "when Galway opens"
The Rendevous, Bermo's Rest, The Roundabout and Kate's Bar are the four names I remember at various points. I think in that order.
Bermo's rest, you've a great memory, I haven't heard that name in a long time.
They republished the job ad for a Manager 17 days ago.
I would take the refurbishment to mean that Nando's is moving ahead with the location rather than it is no longer happening.
I spotted a guy clearing out Johnny Wards this morning. I wonder is something going to go in there - accommodation no doubt. It'd be a lovely spot for a pub.
What was the name of the restaurant they are renovating now, and was there another restaurant there before that, between the pubs and the last restaurant?
Wasn't there a chinese restaurant in there last I think.
Yep, I'm looking for the name of it. I think there was another restaurant there just before the last one, too, but I might be wrong
Headford Point?
Bodkin Point Asian Restaurant
Bodkin Point, and before that Blakes Cavery.
Wasn’t the Chinese buffet place called Star King or something like that?
Yes it was Star King before it closed and reopened as Bodkin Point. There's an old thread here on it...
Was/is Blake's Cavery not Eglinton St, where Cullinane's bar was?
From Google Street View in June 2009. Sorry a Carvery lunch in Blakes Tavern, i misspoke. I think i eat there once
That's Blakes Brasserie. A far classier establishment.
EuroGiant on Mainguard St closing due to overhead costs, mainly rent.
That's been there for ages . .. where does it say the rent being the problem. ..
I would have thought competition from dealz and Mr price chipped away at them...
yesterday's Tribune, caller
What's caller mean?
poster, contributor, partaker, responder, .. 😛
Pamela Scott clothing opening in Galway SC
Adult Play Center opened up in Liosban near CPH Plant and Tool Hire. Called Brief Encounters. Something different.
😮😲🫢😯😳🙀
Peter Pan Funworld is back 😂
Has anyone told the bishop yet?
That area is the Red Light District of Galway. Wasn't there a "movie" theatre down that way a decade or so ago as well?
Galway Beo beat you to this (for a change). They have been scandalise by for for a few days now.
