Well never thought id see the day..i know its that rag reporting it but their generally right on these kinda things. I guess thats our multiple nights in Croke Park band sorted for next Summer then✌
Anyone except Cast and Richard Ashcroft for support
It was my one and only time at Slane. Queuing for everything all day.
Have you considered that the fact you have 3 teenage girls means you experience is going to be massive skewed to teenage girls. If you girls were in their 20s you'd probably see much more of the hype in girls in their 20s, etc.
There a lot of women in my team, ages from early 20s to 50. There were people talking about across all age ranges. She isn't selling out that many stadoum with just teenagers.
Madonna was on a Sunday
Sitting outside the ground for 30 minutes watching thousands and thousands of kids leaving it was a decent sample size for me. Not saying there wasn't women (and men) there of an older age but it was clear to see that the vast majority of people were teenagers.
Being inside the ground for the whole 3 hours, I can tell you the vast majority were women in their late 20s/early 30s.
Got my Oasis VIP merch pack / flight case in the post this morning. Pretty cool piece of memorabilia I have to say!
Here lads wtf has taylor swift got to do with oasis
she’s the rumoured support act for Oasis at Slane next year
she's helping somebody stereotype fan bases to feel better about their bitter opinions on folks liking more than one band…I think
That would be good craic for a ticket war haha , im backing the swifties😂
She would be too big to support Jesus' Return.
A row about Taylor Swift's core audience breaking out in the middle of an Oasis thread, what a time to be alive....
Oh no you di'int….
Starting to really get into 'Slide Away' and 'Whatever'
Never would of listened to them much pre gig
Oasis seem to be haunting me atm, in the bar in Hueston station and they came on the radio. WWE in the 3Arena had a few in Oasis merch
Can see them been the 'Spotify artist of the year' on a lot of profiles
Two of my favourite Oasis songs.
Noel's acoustic version of Slide Away will make you appreciate the song even more!
Ah sher, with the tour going on, they are everywhere. Was in my local a couple of weeks ago (About a week before the shows). Live band on. Was covering "Half A World Away" and a couple of others. Was talking to the table staff "I bet you'll be happy when Oasis concerts are over. You won't have to be listening to those as much." To which the reply was "Oh, is that who that is? I was wondering. Yeah, don't know their stuff"…. I then sank my old ass into my pint in depression :D
I wouldn't be too devastated if Whatever fell of the face of the planet. But Slide Away is a gem. Twas always my favourite Oasis tune from the beginning. Stood out to me on Definitely Maybe when I bought it many decades ago. And it's still my favourite. The only slight critisism is that the "Slide away" lyrics are too repetitive at the end - they go on for a bit too long. I didn't take much notice until my kids pointed it out to me when I was trying to force them to listen to the song.
Me too. Was quite enjoying the punch and judy show!
no where near The Beatles..
Kasabian no where near the same since Tom’s gone
Won’t be than big a fan of fade away (war child version is better) . Much prefer fade in out
And good riddance!
Can't listen to their last 2 albums any more at all - since Serge took over. Pure muck.
The previous 6 albums were all decent enough. And you could take at least 3 good songs of each album which fed very nicely into the live setlist, allowing for gigs that had no lull of down-point. But I've lost interest in them now. Went to the Olympia gig couple of years back with Serge doing vocals. It was very anti-climatic, after seeing them doing great shows in 3Arena in previous years.
Yeah I was at their last gig in the 3 Arena, brought the missus who hadn't even heard of them, and she thought they were superb. So yeah I have no intention of ever going to see then without Tom, unless of course they are backing up Oasis. I also don't believe for one second that Slane would be held on a Wednesday, we are constantly seeing fake gigs for Oasis in 2026.
First person I've heard who didn't think Richard Ashcroft wasn't superb?
He was both times ive seen him
Just not enthralled seeing him play again
Merch box finally arrived for anyone still waiting on theirs
Kasabians most recent album Happenings is decent. They've got Rob Harvey formerly of The Music who does some lead vocals on it as well as Serge.
I could listen to Bittersweet Symphony live for an hour straight. Its an absolute stormer of a tune!
