Always a pain in the arse trying to find out stage times for gigs - even worse for those of us who don’t use Twitter - so how about we start a dedicated thread?
standard for indoor venues is doors 7, support 8 and headline act 9 with 11pm curfew. For summer outdoor shows it’s slightly rearranged with 22:30 curfew for most outdoor shows so it’s 8:30-9pm for headline act with a truncated festival tight 75-90 mins set
Malahide is outdoors so 9:10 would be a bit late based on your info. Then again calculating back 90 minutes from 10:45 it adds up. Or subtracts in this case. Still a bit stupid to say doors open at 4pm and show starts at 5pm. Unless it's a scheme to sell more food and drink because people are in the venue for longer…
I don't remember the exact times Hozier and Snow Patrol started. I can see on my Google timeline that I was out the door at 22:07 after the Hozier concert (December 2023) and 22:43 after the Snow Patrol concert (February 2025). I think both were 2 hours or close enough, so Snow Patrol was a bit later than I would have expected as well.
3Arena is completely different than the likes of Marlay Park and Malahide. I have no idea why people bring young kids to those outdoor gigs. I was at Olivia Rodrigo last week with my teenage daughter. That was grand. She could at least stand up by herself, go to the bathroom, queue for food etc. There were some people around us with kids that were 7 or 8 years old. Parents had to lift them up cause they were tired. Bring them to the bathroom every half hour. In and out getting food. And then many left early cause the kids were tired, with the Dads carrying the kids out who were asleep in their arms. There weren't too many kids who were asleep, but I saw enough to think that if the parents had to re-live the experience, I'd say many would have hesitated in repeating the experience.
In 3Areana, can obviously get seating tickets, if bringing kids. And the luas is about 20 second walk from the venue.
In terms of the times that you initially mentioned, most gigs are at around 9 now. A good value one would be from 9 to 11. Some artists delay in coming on, and could be 9.15, and generally play for 90/100 mins (unless you're Nicky Minaj or CharliXcX - who have their own rules 😀).
Our children loved it! Especially one of them, the other one wanted to leave after a few songs. On the way to the car when we came past a portaloo she said she needed to go to the toilet. And after that she said that's why she wanted to leave. Right, and we had been sitting somewhere the whole time with the toilets right behind us… 🤣
I agree that we're second guessing the decision to bring the children along. Like I said we misjudged the starting time.
3Arena wouldn't have been great either, to say the least, because our children can't sit still for more than 0.3 seconds.
Ok. You have more patience than me. 😀 My wife made me leave before an encore at a U2 gig (2 of my favourite songs were in the encore), because she got a call that one of the kids woke up and felt unwell. That was about 12 years ago, and she hasn't been asked along to a gig by me since. And won't be.
Anyone know the times for Alexisonfire/Coheed & Cambria tonight in the National Stadium ?
Folks, does anyone know what time Dara O'Briain goes on stage for the Vicar St. shows? Everything suggests 8pm, but that seems early? Thx
yeah it’s 8pm. Comedy shows always start in vicar at 8ish
Anyone know what time Peter Kay was on stage at 3Arena last night? We're going tonight.
Anyone seen any stage times for Wunderhorse tomorrow and QotSa Wed? 2 support bands both days be good to have an idea when to get in for them all. TIA
Anyone know what time Sharon Von Etten is expected on stage tomorrow. I can only see Gates 6pm
What time can we expect to see Elbow take the stage on Saturdays Robbie Williams gig? They are the only reason I got tickets.
This was the info I got for those in the area
Gates Open* 5pm
Lottery Winners 6pm Elbow 6.55pm Main Act* 8.25pm Concert ends* 10:45pm
*All timings are approximate and subject to change
Brilliant thanks
Thanks for that. I doubt Robbie will be on for 2 hours and 20 mins. But maybe ??
Recent setlists are e.g. Show: 8:45 PM – 11:00 PM

That's great value. And from looking at the setlist, there is no real low point in the songs - all great or at least good songs. He does a fair bit of talking between songs, so maybe that's why the gig extends over the 2 hour mark.
Anyone any idea if Matt Berninger has a support act tonight in Vicar St. He's not due on until 8pm.
Can't find any info on stage times for The Human League in Collins Barracks anywhere. Tickets say doors at 6pm which seems pretty early
I would expect Human League on about 9 and finishing 10:30, so is it safe to assume Blancmange won't be on before 8?
Any info appreciated
I was at Wunderhorse earlier in the week there. They were on at about 9. Two supports at 6.45 and 7.45
Great band, brilliant live, and their last album is really good. Guy Garvey is a great singer and songwriter and funny on state too. I hope they get a few more fans after Croker. But not too many 'cause then it'll be hard to get tickets the next time they're playing.

Door 6, DJ 630
Blancmange 745
Human League 9 - 1030
I was in Collins Barracks yesterday for Sharon Von Etten. She came on at 9pm sharp and played until 10:30pm. The concerts need to finish at 10.30pm
FYI - the bar closes at 10pm sharp so if you want a drink make sure you're there before then!
Don't know stage times, but support is Ronboy, who's also part of his band. Will be joined by Matt too I believe. (I'm going Sat, so feedback on stage times tonight welcomed 😊)
Perfect! thanks.
Anything for Kaiser Chiefs tonight?
Ronboy kicked off at 8.10pm and played till 8.40 ish. Matt came on just after 9. Finished at around 10.30
