They might but they've no comeback for it so what can they do? Interesting to see if they shift the difference in tickets. Presumably they think they will or wouldn't be worth their while moving it

a pop artist is trying to develop their audience/fanbase and some longevity. Jumping to an arena and delivering a sub par show can kill their reputation. as I said in the other comment, pop acts are all being compared to each other and their productions.
I’m sure they will shift thousands more, probably end up with fully standing and upstairs with a curtain up for back sections.
I think you are getting a bit hung up on production value.

Himself and Addison are 2 of the biggest industry plants going, their fanbases arent too demanding, most are kids and they will be whooping and hollering no matter what.

I recall they set up a new company for either album earnings or tour earnings earlier in the year but didn't hear anything further on that.

39.95 euro for a ticket in the National stadium, 58.40-69.95 in the 3Arena, thats some hike.

Turnstile was €15 price bump from lowest price, this is €20? seems about right for additional costs that are involved especially if she has to rent Dublin specific things like extra screens etc.
MCD will be getting the same pro rata % at end of the day and run the risk of much higher guarantee based on new 3 arena capacity.

turnstile was €15 or €25 bump so either 30%/65% Addison is €20 or €30 so either 50% or 75% on €40 ticket. arenas shows are expensive to put on. No way to escape that.
Nonsense, can put a show in an arena for €40. It’s just these artists and promoters looking to make a few more pennies
the cheapest decent 3 arena in last year has been Fontaines for €40 and John bishop doing his stand up 25th anniversary tour for €25.
John bishop is him a microphone, no dancers, crew etc. Isn’t touring around with a few buses etc. it’s him on a ryanair/aer lingus flight. Fontaines was part of an arena tour with full capacity 3 arena. The costs involved are spread over more arenas and bigger audiences. It’s basic maths.
Turnstile is a 5000 cap out of 14,000 and Addison Rae is 8500 as curtain is up for back blocks.
Yungblud with The Warning as support at 3arena is near 60 a ticket when you use the typical channel.
However if you use Gigantic tickets are under 50.
Basic maths there just suggest Ticketmaster like pocketing a sneaky.
Gigantic tickets has €45 standing tickets available whereas TM has sold out of €45 standing and only has more expensive seated tickets at €57. different ticketing platforms have own allotments so things like that can happen especially when platform like gigantic is unknown in ireland

I saw them supporting some other band in Vicar street couple of years ago. They were good. I know gig prices have obviously gone up over the years. But this one is not worth €45 in my opinion.
I think only Cork and Sligo had been announced previously. Galway is doing well getting to see them in Roisin Dubh. They could just have easily done one night in the Black Box instead and even Leisureland probably would have been viable.
Friend messaged saying they got zero communication on the venue move but received a refund. They paid via PayPal for their tickets if that matters?
Can see the gig now listed as the Button Factory and still tickets available.
Any idea why tickets were voided and refunded instead of just being valid for new venue?

Jeez if the venue is downgraded and you're being forced to rebuy your ticket and pay more to attend, I'd almost not attend out of principle.

€200 Coldplay? Ya, no bother. Bring it on. €600 Oasis ? Shure why not. Only know 1 song, but can't be missing that when there will be 80,000 people there. Where's me bucket hat?
I was amazed they were booked into Vicar St a few years back. Although they did pull a decent sized crowd to that one. I only went 'cos i got a ticket for €20. No way was i paying the €35/40 they were looking for. Button Factory always seemed their level to me and there's no way i'd be paying the now €45 required to see them. Bang average act.
the two biggest costs when putting on a show are venue rental and artist guarantee. the guarantee is based on venue capacity x ticket price and stays the same even with a downgrade. When an upgrade happens the guarantee will increase on a pro rata basis if not more. so when a promoter downgrades a show they are doing so to minimise their loss and maybe just barely break even.
Anyone know if TM resale has been enabled for EP? Dunno if I'm wasting my time checking a few times a day.
