It would be great to have the choice of any game, but that will probably only happen if a streaming service acquires the rights. Or if the Bundesliga sell it directly to the customer, like Ligue 1 is now doing. Sky certainly wouldn't bother their arse anyway. Even though they easily could do it on Sky Sports + . Not once in the 4 seasons they had the rights, did they advertise, or mention on SSN, that they were showing at least a couple of 2.liga games for free, on YouTube, every week.
It's a big one to kick things off on the 1st. Schalke V Hertha. Hopefully it will be on somewhere..
At least you won't have to worry about 2BL this season 😉
I'll still watch more 2.liga games tbh. I find it far more interesting/exciting. Even though we were promoted I think I'll still follow the rest of the Buli the same way I have the past 7/8 years and that is through highlights.
Our first 5 Buli games have been set and we have games on Friday 20:30, Saturday 18:30, Sunday 15:30 and Sunday 19:30. Just the one Saturday afternoon game. I'm sure it'll settle down as the season goes on but that's a load of sh*te.
I'll be the same myself as my friends are Lautern and Dresden fans. It was handy having them on YouTube on a Friday evening.
Have they sorted out the broadcast rights for here yet? Don't see anything for the 2.Bundesliga matches on the sky sports YouTube.
Nope. Nothing confirmed.
The Schalke v Hertha game is free to air in Germany, on Sat 1. If you can access it.
The 2-1 loss was flattering to Hertha. Schalke played them off the park for most of the game. They looked stronger, fitter and way shaper.
Anyone got experience of travelling to see RB Leipzig home matches?
I see Leipzig only release tickets a few weeks in advance, but might take a chance.
Bundesliga TV rights have been announced today
As I mentioned in the broadcasting forum, Sunday is the day most games are televised here. At least two games are live. Three, when there's a late game. As the Amazon deal is exclusive to the UK, that means no Sunday games will be broadcast here. It's a joke of a deal anyway. PPF for Bundesliga?! I'm a fan, but even if Ireland was included in that deal, I wouldn't be paying for that. I'm already paying for Sky, TNT and Premier. This will only send more people down the firestick route.
It also looks like only one 2.Bundealiga game a week will be shown. On Friday evening on YouTube.
That's a disaster then for Irish viewers.
All the 2.BL games will be on youtube here going forward unless this is an error
If that's the case, then that's great. We'll see at the weekend. That makes sense. If they can do it then why wouldn't they, when nobody else has the rights. And there's now English commentary on all matches.
Some awful tv coverage of tonight's match but I kept hearing the commentators saying Dortmund "Title contenders", Leipzig have more of a chance of being title contenders than Dortmund……
Throwing away a 2 goal lead is unforgivable for me, should've been closed shop after the red card but they're just not capable of that
Great to be able to watch any of the zweite liga games. But an absolute joke Irish fans have no way of watching the Sunday Bundesliga matches. If they wanted, they could just let us watch the games on YouTube. The same goes for the Saturday afternoon matches.
A camera crew had been following HSV around for the past 18 months for a documentary series and it was released by ZDF a few days ago. It has been uploaded here with subtitles translated into English if anyone is interested.
Mentioned in the Loi thread but Bohs are hosting Schalke in October for a friendly.
Martijn Kaars is joining Pauli from Magdeburg. The transfer was leaked last night when an unknown person peered through an office window at Magdeburg's ground and spotted an email left open on the sport director's unlocked computer. Amazing.
ten Hag being sacked after 2 matchdays is crazy.
Frankfurt held out for all of 12sec versus bayern
Hertha with 4 wins and no goals conceded. And playing with a real swagger too. 3 points off the promotion places. The 16 year old in midfield, Eichhorn, is a serious prospect. He's been excellent since coming into the team.
Looking forward to heading over for a game after the winter break.
Don't know if this is the first week of it as I've not seen it before but all 2.30pm games and Sunday games are listed on the bundesliga YouTube page.
Well spotted!
I did send them an email, to remind them that there was no reason not to make the Saturday afternoon games available in Ireland. And also that we had no access to the Sunday games at all. They got back and said they would look into it. So I'm taking the credit for this 😉
Had spotted the Bayern Pauli game advertised during the week but didn't realise the rest were on also. Pauli 1-0 up.
Stuttgart discussed that freekick at the end for like a minute only to do the worst thing possible with it
The round of 16 Pokal matches are on DFB Play over the next 3 nights
Eichhorn becomes the first 16 year old to score in the Pokal. And the youngest ever scorer for Hertha. Big things ahead for this lad. I just hope he stays with Hertha for a while yet.
Magdeburg took revenge against Fürth last night after losing 5-4 to them back in August
Missed the news of Dzeko going to Schalke, that's 3 goals in 2 now.
