Hard to take anything from this game, Hugh Gavin, Bolton are big and powerful and will break the tackle against most teams, TOB is showing us why having genuine pace on the wings is vital.
Maybe thats it but at times it looks like the greenshirts are sort of washed out.
While I'm delighted for our debutantes and hope they have a great night on the beer this evening, nothing can be learned from this.

It should have been useful for Portugal, through Im not sure its turning out that way. Is this their strongest team? For us, get a few debutants into the system, rehearse the next set of coaches, pressure test the third and fourth in line for the depth chart. Some useful stuff beyond the game not offering much.
It's a soft debut for Kendellen, Bolton and Gavin which is nice but it's a complete waste of time for experienced internationals like Casey, Crowley, McCloskey and Baird.
This should have been more of an Emerging Ireland type selection and send the senior players to the beach.
