Apologies, Link updated. I have NCT booked for 07 May, could not get an earlier date. I can add the car to my current insurance on a temporary basis if required.
Check the NCT site throughout the day and late in the evening. You'll get a date within a week or so depending on location.
be very careful, 3rd party driving extension only apples once the car being driven has its own insurance.
Thats not the case for the vast majority of insurers
No car has it's 'own' insurance, only people insured to drive it. So if your insurance covers you to drive other cars then that is the 'insurance'. Whether someone else is insured to drive the car too or not is irrelevant.
Some companies require that the car must also be insured under a separate policy. Others don't. You need to ask, or read the policy document to be sure.
The insurance can also have a condition that the car is roadworthy, assuming this would mean a valid NCT.

lovely motor, biggest issue I would have is handing over 50k plus to someone in a private sale, personally I would prefer to buy from a garage for that sort of money. Best of luck.
Good luck with sale, you seem to be the only private m50 i4 sale for a 22 plate so hard to judge how to price it. Dealer cars from 54 to 58k including BMW dealerships so maybe dropping just below 50k for the asking might help.
But it's your money, leave it up for a while and see what the interest in it is like before dropping. As others have said, hard to shift something like that unfortunately

Is 25 k too much for private sale?
There's no limit to a private sale, just have to discount for a lack of warrantt/comeback.
Easier if the car is more of an "enthusiast" type.
