Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
there are supposed to be decent seats as low as €25, but the current presale has nothing under €114
Im looking at a 47 quid ticket in the presale in block A.
Not going to bother though. Can see a load of drunks and/or Irish social media addicted MAGA idiots.
A handful of seats in all likelihood, for marketing purposes.
The back row of the venue varies from 114 to 144 euro.
Hardly "eye watering" prices eh?
Anyway, in case it wasn't mentioned previously, Wolf Alice play Dec 10 in the Point. Another mid week gig for me 🙃
The Frank and Walters play Whelan's on the 13th too
Have you ever sat at the very back of the 3Arena? Anything over €100 is eye watering for those seats for any event. They're absolute muck.
I doubt Obama is going to be break dancing or something
Dream Boy are doing a late show in Galway at The Roisin Dubh Thu 10th July, 2025 Doors: 11:59pm
Should be able to hear him well from up there though, the man is full of hot air.
Which makes it even more eye watering. The privilege of watching an interview on a screen for over €100.
Ex US Presidents have been charging that sort of cash for decades at this stage.
Clinton was the first to do it on such a huge scale. The slimy fucker.
sure keano is charging similar to hear him and Roddy Doyle talk through anecdotes that have been published/online for years
And sold out 3 nights. Fools and their money and all that.. ;)
if you switched it so Fintan was interviewing Roddy Doyle and Roy Keane was interviewing Obama, that would make both events better
The seating is largely decent enough in the Marquee that you can see the act. The back of the 3Arena is abysmal and you'll be watching a screen... from a distance.
Also, isn't seeing any band largely hearing the same stuff that's been around for years.
3 nights in a row too, is it going to be largely the same script all 3 nights ?
Roy isnt charging 364 euro for seats (flat seating) or 2k for a photo.
Id like to see Vincent Brown interview Obama, that would be interesting, you might actually get some interesting questions.
Feeder for Cork city hall late October as part of Jazz fest.
Would love them to play Dublin. Such a good live band.
Not this time anyway, show is an Irish exclusive.
Nevermind
Any one else looking forward to ludivico Einaudi this evening?
That's a great booking for that Tom Keating promoters. Fair play to them
Yup, should be good! Support is early enough at 7.20 but main man having a break between his sets
They were incredible in the Olympia a few years back
Yeah should be great! Bit surprised it's only their first Cork gig apparently
Decent supporting cast added to the 'The Weir' in the Olympia in August/September
I'd be tempted
I see Alexisonfire are only doing 1hr slot, but might be tempted to leave and grab an earlier bus, soz to coheed but extra sleep before getting up at 6.30am on Thursday might win
Could you not have Mick McCarthy interviewing Roy, scheduled to coincide with the release of Saipan in mid-Sept?
Bands for next weekend in Whelan's...
...I'm very confused by Last Apollo being there as I saw them in a sold out Button Factory in December, I think that gig was an anomaly though. It was incredible mind, hopefully can make it in on Thursday
ETA: stage times at https://www.whelanslive.com/event/whelans-summer-watch-2025/
20:15-02:15 each day. I'm too old to be up that late 🤣
