Balls like a Bengali tiger
Good man Lucu.
I'd say the forwards are cursing him though.
Anyone know who the (so called) commentary team are, on Premier? They've been a blight on this game for me unfortunately.
Main commentator sounds like he could be commenting on horseracing, or on the radio...describing EVERYTHING. Less is most definitely more.
The kiwi is Andrew Mehrtens
guessing Carbery isn't going to feature again
Meafu never supporting his body weight there.
Samu sensational.
This could be penalties
as it stands ST will win on less yellow cards
French commentators on TV5 for those who prefer (or don’t subscribe to Premier, it’s on Virgin Media and is free to stream).
Absolutely fantastic game of rugby, more generally, a final worthy of the name.
Joey Carbs is on now, 10 minutes to go
Ramos penalty
36-33
No offside there?
that’s a joke from the ref there
Apparently they're not using the yellow card rule this evening.
another bullshit decision
Brousset has ridden UBB here
zero reason for that to be a penalty. ball was won by UBB, just in an awkward spot
FT
39-33
Cracking game, but yeah, felt Brousset gave UBB none of the big calls, gutted for them, think they were hard done by in terms of the officiating.
Tell you what though...I'd have Jack Willis in the Lions squad ahead of either Tom Curry or Ben Earls in a heartbeat.
Fair play to carbery playing a part in a T14 final. Starting campaign for carbery to join connacht next season and wages subsidise by the new Super Macs: Joey Burger 🙃
Great excitement and drama but very poor on quality I thought. Must have been 20+ handling errors in that game, and several refereeing howlers. Except for a few sublime moments of skill and timing there was an awful lot of huffing and puffing between the scrum resets. Toulouse defence was epic but some brainless half back work and offsides made it look much better than it might otherwise have been. Anyway, fair play Toulouse, clutch team.
Seeing the draws in Europe for the Challenge cup I noted Montauban were promoted from ProD2 having finished 6th in the table with 13 defeats in the regular season. In the last game of the regular season they were beaten 36-10 by second from bottom Aurillac who finished closer to them on points than top placed Grenoble, who then subsequently lost out on promotion after losing the final to Montauban and then the layoff to Perpignan.
Montauban only appear to have made the playoff on head to head points difference over Beziers who had a better overall points difference
Them's the rules. Castres won the Bouclier a number of years back after finishing 6th.
Was an observation not a complaint. It goes to show sometimes how small the margins can be between abject failure and glorious success
Their end of season was absolutely glorious (and streamed free on YouTube with English commentary by a chap who just upped and bought the rights himself).
Montauban finished second from bottom last year too. They will have not expected in a milion years to be in the Top14 and have no preparation in place for it.
2 North
12 South
Where do you draw the line?
doesn't get much better when you add in ProD2
