it’s not cheap that’s for sure
It finally happened. Rathwood has cancelled all coal orders awaiting delivery. Was told on the phone that an email had been sent yesterday regarding the cancellations. This was a false claim. I'm now on the refund merry-go-round, with two other orders outstanding that have little chance of happening. Check the portal if your affected with this.
instigate a chargeback with your bank and they might learn a lesson
It's Revolute. I have to deal with Rathwood first, unfortunately. Thanks for the heads-up.
Would anyone know please, If McPartland Eco Glow would be a close equivalent to Coyles Glo Therme? Thanks.
you can start a chargeback with revolut, they will ask you a few questions and if you can show proof you have asked for a refund they will give you the refund and rathwood will incur a penalty
Thanks for that. I demanded an email from Rathwood and got it, that states the cancelled order and the refund request. That should satisfy Revolute, hopefully.
some small but if a sting being taken out of delivery here with easyglow in their latest email
It's a new month, and we’ve got something great to kick off July!

What are the best deals around at the moment?
Looking at this

I'm considering a purchase from the Dandys at the moment. They sell Hayes poducts. Never used the smokeless before as always had Polish coal.

Note that their sterling prices are slightly better than euros.
Ive bought from easyglow and ecoglow green from coaldirectireland in the past but I think both are a bit pricey at moment so I'm considering other options
Can't go wrong with coal warehouse
Greers are a good option too. I've bought ovoids from them twice. Excellent
Just checked their site and a tonne of Glow Therm smokeless ovoids is £350 plus £75 delivery
Hi @jimbobmalones
If you're looking to purchase ECO Glow Green Bags, Smokeless Coal Express is typically the most affordable option. Currently, they offer a pallet of 50 x 20kg bags for £429, including delivery to Ireland. This price has remained unchanged since November.
Last year, they ran a special promotion for a few weeks in September, so it may be worth keeping an eye out for a similar offer this year. I recommend signing up for their newsletter to receive notifications about any upcoming deals or promotions.
I always found these to be efficient, and they seem to have moved away to the plain wood pallet, and away from those red or blue dye pallets, which was an issue for burning.
How does that Eco Glo compare to the Coyles Glo Therm, which I found excellent?
I've only ever used eco glow or eco stove (in the red bag), or cpl supertherm (pink bag) for a bit. Of the three, I'd stick with the eco glow in the green bag, it's a bit cheaper, reliable, and nothing about it was inferior to the others that I could tell.
Would these be the same as McPartlands' EcoGlo?
No, not the same product
Hi thank you for the question. Eco glow green bags are manufactured by Andrew Mc Laughlin and sons ltd
. Please see photo below showing the back of the bag at the bottom left
personal I would think Mcpartlands ECO GLO would be manufactured by Andrew Mc Laughlin and sons ltd has well. The same smokeless coal but in different bags
Coal is quarter the price it was trading at in 2022
But prices are still high. Will we ever see 200 a ton for smokeless
Yup - even with inflation and taxes the big and consistent fall in the commodity price should have been feeding through by now. I'd say suppliers are keeping prices high as customers probably don't expect price falls in general. I'm hoping for sub 400 euro a tonne delivered in the next few months
My last load of Eco Stove performed really well especially with slumbering - staying warm overnight. Seemed better than previous loads.
Email from Coal Warehouse this morning.
SMOKELESS OVOID'S (1 TONNE) €450.00 Delivered.
Is the expectation that the prices should drop a bit more and get under €400 for a tonne delivered?
And what's the quality of their Ovoids like these days?
pay in sterling today using Revolut and that comes out at €435.
also curious as to the quality and any experiences welcomed ?
coal wharehouse is grand, themselves and easyglow were the most popular around here for years
I used their smokless ovoids last winter and found them rubbish, if you search back some pages youll see my experience.
Id be guessing its still last years stock that they are selling, I dont think id risk it again myself but in saying that you could be fine.
Lucky enough it was only a half tonne in my case though
CW was probably the most popular here by far a few years back. The quality of their coal went from great to complete SH!te.. Id be very reluctant to give them another go tbh
