He's posted an updated video with a breakdown of HDR settings for different TV manufacturers and a handy chart for determining how to set paper white to 200 nits for your screen.
I'll be honest I find 200 nits a little dark for my liking so I'll probably play around with it a bit.
The basic formula is clicks on first screen until the sun on the right disappears X10 +80 = your displays max luminance.
e.g. For my TV 72 clicks = 800 nits peak brightness. So to set 200 nits peak brightness would be 6 clicks on the second screen according to his chart.
Has anyone noticed any scratches on their Switch 2? Seems to be a big enough issue! :-( I've just spotted two on mine, I've been uber careful with it….no screen protector. Quiet annoyed to say the least!!
The fact that Nintendo confirmed its an issue makes it even more annoying.

They are either inexperienced or blatantly lying to you. Your contract of purchase is with them. If your product is faulty you are entitled to a refund or replacement from them. If they can't determine in store if your product is faulty or not then that's on them for the first 30 days, not you!
I'd absolutely consider small claims for €25
Great service when ordering but Smyths have gone to the dogs on after sales in recent years. Last time I bought a controller from them I was told it had a 6 month warranty. After Id paid of course. Chancers. As retr0 says you have to stand your ground. I'd say a quick threat of small claims court would bring them round.

If it's within 30 days they have to offer a full refund. You should have asked for a manager. There's no obligation for Nintendo to confirm it's an issue.
So I went to Smyths and they said they would have to send the console into Nintendo for inspection to confirm if it is a manufacturing fault before any redress will be offered
I was going to say I don't have an issue, but when I log into my router there, I don't see the switch 2 connected. It's asleep, but I thought the switch (2) normally stayed online.
Looks like a real bargain at 11 euro. It will be well supported by 8BitDo. Get for yourself or handy to have if an extra player needs a controller.

"cancel your purchase and get a full refund when a fault occurs within 30 days of receiving the goods."

True. Had to take gamestop to small claims court over a xbox elite controller. Got my money back through the court.
You have rights under the Consumer Protection Rights the goods are expected to work for a reasonable period of time and the merchant has to rectify the issue for you as your contract is with them.
They can offer to repair, replace or refund. They get to decide not you.
You're covered for 28 days with Smyths and then a year with Nintendo, Smyths have to either refund or replace, don't let them fob you off.
Don't let the turn you away. You have a legal right to a refund or exchange for a faulty product. A load of these places try fob you off the the manufacturer.

I will bring it into Smyths and see what the story is. In the meantime I bought a 7 euro ethernet to usb adapter that is working. Nintendo say that they are aware that there is an issue with ethernet ports on some units
Feck that. You shouldn't be without your new console for a send in repair basically at launch. You have a faulty product within 30 days of purchase. Whats the returns policy where you bought? Get a replacement and let them deal with it.

Anyone having trouble with the ethernet port? I have been reading about some Switch 2 docks having a faulty ethernet port. Mine sadly seems to be one of the faulty ones. So far Nintendo's solution is to send the entire unit including console in for repair
Vincent has weighed in with the problematic HDR output of the Switch 2. The HGIG issue is well known at this point, but Nintendo are clearly inexperienced in how they've approached video reference levels. Most of this is not really relevant to the large majority of people who are happy with their PQ, but for the rest, there are some good tips contained here, plus I'd urge people to scan over his PS5 and Xbox material if wanting to have a more accurate and satisfying output for those machines.
