They have been on a tour around Europe and the Middle East over the past month and are most likely en route back to the US. No great mystery - their flight history is there on FR24.
what’s that aircraft up to. I spotted it when driving on the dual carriageway, that’s the lowest I’ve ever seen a plane around here that wasn’t coming in to land. And now it’s just flew directly over my house,
Possibly calibration work.
its doing that same route back and foward for the last 2 months with little or no deviation.
it’s the lowest plane I ever saw, I would liken it to crop dusting it was that low :-D
It's a survey aircraft and has spent several summers operating over Ireland.
A few years ago there was an aircraft surveying for minerals around here. However it was sweeping back and forward across the fields.
I lived next door to Shannon airport all my life and I can’t recall seeing that before, interesting.
It's operating from Shannon this year but I think it has operated from other airports such as Cork or Weston in the past. It's Canadian-registered but I don't think it has been back home for several years.
There's actually 2 of them in Shannon this year, there was 1 last year.
C-GSGP and C-GSGF
Huge number of USAF tankers came to Europe / ME - overnight this is just a fraction. I don't see them now but lots of MIL even russian's on ADB atm.
It takes a lot of fuel for Israeli aircraft to maintain air superiority over Tehran.
I'm wondering what route they are taking:
Israel-Syria-Iraq-Iran
Israel-Jordan-Iraq-Iran
Israel-Saudi Arabia-Iran
They appear to be staging in Crete.
Someone getting a tour of the country at the moment??
They landed in multiple sites, including a field in Tuam, where we saw them, while out for a lunchtime walk.
It seems a long trip for training, or are they going to designated landing zones close to towns?
The one in Tuam is a bit out of the way, saw them circling before landing.
Although I like to believe that it's an idealistic guided tour of the hot-spots of Western Ireland, it's far more likely to be a training flight as the new Bristow crews familiarise themselves with some of the unmarked or informal landing sites and build-up experience in visualising their approaches and hazard avoidance.

Under the terms of the Air Navigation (Foreign Military Aircraft) Order, 1952, all foreign military aircraft wishing to overfly, or land in, the State require diplomatic clearance from the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Diplomatic clearance is subject to strict conditions, including that the aircraft is unarmed; that it carries no arms, ammunition or explosives; that it does not engage in intelligence gathering; and that the flight in question does not form part of a military exercise or operation.
Then you have these boyos snaking past Donegal after dragging some F-35's and F-22's across the Atlantic, as part of the Middle East build up
Get big Gerry on the phone!
It's funny, others were skirting around as usual, then these were like "f*ck it"
Looking at some of the reports, looks like the fighters only split over NI, meaning they they would have transited Irish sovereign airspace.
Many such as that K35R are tankers, hence not armed, and simply instructed to deploy East.
As for the rest, my take on it is that the US aren't currently engaged in the Iran conflict they are by-rights 'legal' to overfly the state.
Will be interesting to see if anyone caught any pics… would have been about 6 miles off the tip of north Donegal… should have been 10 fighters in total.
interesting route to take when the destination is Portsmouth…..
Portsmouth, New Hampshire, USA not Portsmouth, Hampshire, UK. It's not a six and a half hour flight from Belfast to the south of England.
Portsmouth, New Hampshire in the USA!
Interesting identifier given the day's activities
German a400M in Shannon now. anybody know when it’s due to depart again?
Interesting to watch the layers of defense for the NATO meeting in Den Haag.
Two AWACS (NATO02 and FAF900) circling with a tanker (MMF11) on standby and most likely actively refueling unseen fighters.
Trump is about 1500km's directly W of Galway just now, link below. Looks like he may pass overhead.

Not showing up on FlightRadar that I can see anyway. Would they have support aircraft up there also, ie, refuelling tankers, fighters? Although I suppose the fighters wouldn't be allowed fly in Irish airspace?
Yeah, it often does not appear on FR. He's landing in Schipol just now.
Fighters are not over Ireland, only in and around The Netherlands.
Also, for an oceanic transit the fighters would have drop tanks and only 2 short range defensive missiles.
Anyone know when the 757-200 Yankee Clipper II is due to depart from Shannon. Seems it arrived at about 12.00 today?
