Israel doesn’t follow international rules. The US is still illegally occupying Syria and literally ripped up a nuclear agreement with Iran that would have avoided this current mess.
Even funnier was the Americans calling for Iran to return to democracy after the Americans overthrew the democratic government of Iran which led to the imposition of the Shah and Islamic revolution. Hilarious.

There have always been 'spheres of influence' even at the height of the broadly bi polar world.
There may have been in principle a 'rules based order' but it was ignored when it suited those who's interests were threatened and the poor and oppressed paid the price in the main.

We don't know that to be true. The same buzzwords are employed over various meetings relating to the war in Ukraine, or Gaza, or any other conflicts - "constructive", "progress was made on some issues", "still some issues to be ironed out", etc.
It's all talk until a deal is reached and signed. The talks may have been going well, but they may have been going nowhere.
The US would have shared a far franker picture with Israel versus what the public knows. What that truth is, we don't really know.
The US may have told Israel the talks were genuinely going well or held potential, or may have said things were not looking good.
Israel will never give them up. The only way they would is if there was just country with Israelis and Palestinians having equal rights.

Iran state TV, radio 'about to disappear'
Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said Iran's state television and radio were "about to disappear" after an evacuation warning was issued for the district in Tehran where the broadcaster is based.

This is what many of the liberal and progressive folks wanted, was it not? I remember the days of the US being the worlds policeman, always critised by your usual Irish Times columnist, PBP party activist and general naive student.
Now we have Trump and a US that is reverting to isolationism, and guess what, we have various regions in conflict as a vacum is being filled by whatever country or regime that can exert its hard power as the US starts to retreat and not get involved.
