Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
Is someone keeping a list of these statements?
I'll give benefit of the doubt, last time I went to a gig that was 8pm stage time the band started 40 mins later.
Nothing we haven't talked about in here before, no big revelations but a desperately depressing article nonetheless. Keep going to those small gigs folks.
Yes I would expect possibly 8.30 but I'm taking no chances, will go in for 7.30.
Yeah same, or at least before 8 anyway.
MCD posted on their story there 8pm as well, we shall see sure
Anyone know when Ticketmaster close sales ahead of a gig tonight?
Some decent NIN resale tickets popping up
The smaller venues also charge less. Father John Misty at Leisureland was €51 (incl fees) via the Roisín Dubh who promoted it. €65 (incl fees) for the same gig on TM. Collins Barracks gig for him is €68. A TM tax AND a Capital City tax. Not unusual to see a €10 to €25 discrepancy in prices for acts playing both Dublin and Galway.
Thankfully there's some light on the horizon when TM and LN get split up after the US Department of Justice anti-trust case that they've no chance of winning. Early 2027 I'd guess. In the meantime avoid them when you can. Easy for me to say as LN have no foothold in Galway and only for some Summer stuff in Limerick. I imagine Cork is quite similar but alas there's a stranglehold on any of the larger Dublin gigs and that won't changed until they finally get shafted in court. I'd welcome some EU intervention also but possibly bigger fish to fry at present.
they always close ticket sales a few hours before doors. Usually around 5pm
I admire your optimism re TM/LN. Can't see a positive outcome for the fans myself but i hope you're right.
yeah at most they will be legally separated but no change to their charges or tactics
A lot of mixed reactions to Sleep Tokens headline slot at Download last night
Because they're shite live?
A few saying it was so flat
Probably because they're shite live.
Nine inch nails were fxcking amazing, that production was unbelievable thought for the first night of the tour it was class and great to not have anything spoilt beforehand
The whole starting right on the last beat of the support was class
Yeah I wasn't expecting that or for the support to become part of the middle act of the show, was just class all around and done by 10pm no messing around, they packed a lot in for 1hr 20ish
As I said to my mates, not even Trent wanted to risk northside Dublin after dark
Anyone else having issues with tickets you've put up for resale on Ticketmaster and getting confirmation for not appearing in searches?
Never seen them live but I feel they're probably more suited for the arenas and not big fields sound wise.
Suppose it's their first run of festival headliners, I remember seeing the killers headline oxegen in 07 and were utter crap/flat but clearly improved as time went on.
The resale portal has been a bit of a **** show this past week. I can't make Alanis Morrisette in Belfast at the end of the month so put them up for resale below face value and they aren't showing. There is very little resale for that gig so it noticable they aren't listed.
Not sure what is going on
Just wanna say and maybe it's obvious to all , but ive been going to a lot of gigs lately via adverts.ie on the day of or couple of days before. Generally getting 30-60% off cost price. Prob only suits dubs planning wise. Revolut and ticketmaster transfer only takes minutes. Just look at feedback and member since as well. If they are a member 10 years and have positive feedback I don't think they are in the long game to scam you of your 100 quid. Haven't been burned yet probably have gotten 15 gigs or so out of it. Even a few light sell outs you'll get cheap tickets. Just doesn't work for the really in demand gigs , but the fact there's such a glut of gigs these really in demand ones are few and far between.
I messaged TM and got back below: "Standing tickets, also known as General Admission (GA) Resale tickets, show as Best Available on our site. This means only one GA ticket will show at a time, and as tickets sell the system will then show the next Best Available ticket on our site.
You can help increase the chances your tickets will sell sooner by creating a shareable link direct to your tickets via the order in your account. Thanks."
The problem is the only resale standing tickets aren't available as soon as you click in.
Unless Trump halts it they're going to be broken up. They have no hope of winning the case. What the ramifications are we won't know for 2/3 years but it'll definitely open them up to greater competition at home and internationally. Their near-monopolistic era is close to the end and you've got to assume that they're grabbing as much as they can before they take a big hit.
is toutless down?
You don't believe an anti-trust case loss will result in large fines?
You don't believe that greater competition and the loss of venues will result in lower fees?
The resale site is an absolute mystery.
If someone has one ticket for sale at €90 and you have a pair at €95 and a buyer wants to buy two resales ticket, it'll only show that one resale ticket is available as the lower price ticket is the default view.
There's also a lag on when your tickets actually become visible through the general ticket selection page.
Add to that the display price on resale tickets includes fees so it can be hard to identify if the best/cheapest tickets that are visible are yours.
I'm aware there's no new utopian dawn on the horizon but we should see greater competition meaning lower costs. Not that the artists will reduce their fees to reflect a different era. In all likelihood we'll just have some new promoters and ticket-sellers to dislike alongside the usual suspects.
