are you sure there is a Vix image for the H17? Openatv 7.5 has an image for it.
Seems to be the case Swoofer,no Vix image.
I'll settle for OpenAtv.
That box is very rare, did you buy it on amazon de? Be careful I think it may be dodgy and not seen many about. If vix dont support it then I'd steer clear.

Any of the reviews I've seen are positive.
Now that is really weird, when I check FR I get a 1 star for 120eur, then on DE its 150eur plus postage and 1 star. I cant find it on UK Amazon!!

I bought the octagon s8008 supreme , the new one with the nvme hard drive slot.
Its slow , but all single tuner boxes are slow , however it is a great box for tinkering.
It comes with its own OS called " Define" and apps , and you install whatever image you want via the menus in Define.
You can install any E2 OS you want , there are all there as an option and the number of "slots" for E2 OS is only limited by the size of the hard drive.
Ive been messing about with just about every E2 OS there is , and still none better than Vix , so as above , if the box you get hasnt got a vix image available , beware.
Just to add , all these single tuner boxes were bought on instruction from the Mrs.
First she says just any list with both RTE and FTA on it will do. Says She doesnt care about all that " techy" stuff. ( Shes a license distribution controller for Microsoft ……. a bit hypocritical , but after all these years I know when to keep my mouth shut )
So I got a Walker 43 inch and set it up.
Then she says " wheres the EPG ? "
So I got a firestick 4K max and added it to the walker , using enigma 2 plugin.
Nope she says , cant be doing with all that faff of changing inputs and going to TV and selecting the E2 plugin and waiting for the EPG to load !!!!!
So got a single tuner box , the Zgemma H28H , a real POS ……. Nope she says , thats too slow and freezes on BBC news HD and ITV HD
So got the Octagon S8008 , and she says no , thats too slow , doesnt work as fast as the one in the " Cinema Room" ( Had a media wall installed in the sitting room ….. its the Cinema Room now )
Ended up getting another VU+ Duo 4K SE , the blutooth version so there is an extra BT added to that name.
Now shes happy.
A long journey , but basically , I should have just went ahead and done what I wanted too in the first place.

The Walker is a real piece of junk picture wise , only got it for its " combined list " which wasnt good enough in the end.
LG LCDs wipe the floor with any walker.

I see Walker TVs quite often in hotel rooms for when away for work. They are a complete POS.
Changed from a Walker to an LG recently, LG picture quality a lot better but the Walker, Vestel, ( Toshiba, Nordmende, Telefunken) etc combined list, recording function much more practical. Pros and cons to both.

Hi all,
I bought the All for One remote from Amazon and set it up today.Cost €14.90 from the IE store.
Set up is easy,probably the easiest remote set up I've done.
Two codes for Zgemma receivers are in the booklet (it lists 100s of brands) and it takes 4 steps to get it working and not joking its a 30 second job.
Only used it for 15 minutrs or so but the remote is several levels above the stock remote. Its feels sturdy and well built.
Its alot more responsive and quick to take commands.
Doesn't seem to be a file button for recordings but can get them via the menu.
Also set it up to control TV and again thats a 30 second job.
Depending on your remote is it LIST on your remote.
No List button on it but not really an issue for me.
you should able to copy the list button function to that remote, ie it will learn code.

Nope , never did get kodi working on any of my Zgemma boxes. Its advertised on the box prominently , but its a lie. The Zgemmas ( along with every other E2 box) , are useless for kodi.
File List disappeared. All my recordings gone. Help!

Never factory reset as it can balls up your box , any other slots got an image on it will or should show hard drive.
Even reflashing box will not erase your recordings. Sometimes if a reboot does not show your files powering it down for 5 mins and on again should restore it. Is it an internal one or rear inserted one as if rear when powered off remove and refit.

try CNN as that is known to be weak, its 11670 H, 23000 dvb-s2 2/3 8PSK. I used to know a weak vertical as well but has slipped my mind.
Or you can check BBC1 and ITV and and see reading. These are very strong should show 100%.

I tried all that to no avail. The box doesn't seem to "see" the sdd (it's the one that sticks out the back). Sometimes I get the message that the sdd doesn't exist, at others that it is full. ???

Is it Vix and what skin. Not seeing the SSD is a pain.

SSD and HHDS need to be seen is why i asked if you removed and inserted it while powered off.
Did you setup your recording device as ext4 to be seen by the box .
I also use Vix and simple 1080.
I have lost recordings many times and if a reboot does not fix it a powering off at rear does and storage device is then seen in menu.
