Finally
Didn't have HGIG enabled on my LG OLED. It really does make it pop that bit more. Thanks for that.
Just set up my Switch 2 and the dock isn't working, won't connect to the tv or power even tho it's plugged in.
ok turns out the port I was plugging into onto the extender wasn't working, it worked when I tried a different outlet.
Looking online it seems to be a problem, the expired email address, that only Nintendo Customer Service can fix.
And I imagine they are exceptionally busy right now.
Hopefully you'll get sorted soon
When you set up 2FA did you not get a list of backup codes? These can be used to unlock the account and remove 2FA.
Anything I log into asks for the verification from the email. It's such a hassle. I did get to log in last year without one and went to change it myself, it needed verification so that's why I asked Nintendo to step in. Still waiting.
was in smiths in Athlone earlier. All sold out as expected. Chatting the staff for a minute and they said there was over 100 there last night. Seems like a great launch to be fair.

Just came across this on Reddit. Hopefully it'll help.
If you want to set up a Japanese Nintendo account, it is pretty simple.
Using a different email address to the one you used for your local account, just Google Nintendo Accounts and make a new one, with your new/alternate email address.
Set your location to Japan, and use Google Translate or similar to help if there's language issues.
Also, I set up my PayPal on the Japanese eshop, I think I spoofed a Japanese address, so it recognises me as a Japanese resident.
They were supposed to be blocking such methods, but so far nothing has been changed for me.
Could be a multitude of reasons, but first things straight off the bat is to make sure the HDMI connection is up to speed before going in and making PQ changes - that means making sure you're using a suitable cable (one with the console is grand, but anything older throwaway cable may not be up to specs as there are different levels of capability nowadays), and make sure that Deep Colour is enabled on the HDMI port you are using (normally buried in the general→devices area of the TV settings).
Usually LG is set to off by default, relying on source devices to query the hardware on first setup, but it all depends what way you were using the port before. I assume you've had HDR devices on the TV before, so you know what to expect. Certainly a washed out look suggests incorrect colour space setup at work here, especially if the Switch is set to HDR output. If it looks OK with the console set to SDR output, that might indicate a simple HDMI setting on the TV.
Have you tried the UK Customer Support Team on +44 345 60 50 247 ?
Picked mine up in Smyths today and there were two people ahead of me looking for consoles. No joy. The exasperated cashier said it’s been a crazy two days with people looking for them. Typical console launch so 😅
Interestingly, Smyths are expecting more stock between June 11-16. Looks like scalpers won't have much joy with this system.
About the seals, mine was broken too, the sales assistant in ssmythstold me they had opened the bundles to ensure there was a MK code in the box. Apparently they had a problem previously where a whole delivery had been received with no codes and they were making sure it didn't happen again
I went and bought the 10 euro tech demo which should be free but I am really enjoying it , infotainment would be the best way to class it the minigames are enjoyable and quite tough I am annoyed I cant finish it due to camera piece etc
Quick tip would be to turn off all the picture enhancement settings on the TV. I have a LG C4 so not sure of the settings are the same, but go into Settings > Picture > Advanced Settings > Clarity and turn everything there off.
Then play a bit with Colour and Brightness settings.
If you have a "Game Mode" in Picture Mode - set to that first, then make the above changes.
Hi all,
Very happy with my Switch 2 and Mario Kart World. Played it a fair bit yesterday then turned on the TV today (LG 55 CX) and the colours looked all washed out, anyone else had this? I've switched the HDR picture mode to Vivid which has helped. Is that the best mode to use for the Switch 2 on this model of TV?
Thanks,
M
What about adding a phone number to your Nintendo account? That may allow you to get the verification code.
You're not able to log into your Nintendo Account on a browser and change the email?
I've been onto Smyths and DPD. Smyths insist it was sent on the 4th and DPD insist they haven't received it. Won't be ordering from Smyths again. I already knew DPD were useless.
Rang DPD earlier and they said it won't be delivered today.
Went to Collon just now and picked it up myself from the depot, not the best service.
I've rang all their numbers and it just cuts out, no EU online chat, all I wanted them to do was take the old email I've no access to anymore and update it to my current email, I can't do it as I can't get a verification code off the old email address. It shouldn't be this hard. 8 emails and still nothing. This has been going on for over a year now. It wasn't so urgent as I could use my Switch 1 and still shop and my saves/island was there but now with Switch 2 I need it fixed.
You need to go into Settings > User > Online License Settings and turn this on. This will allow two Switches play the same single digital purchase but both cannot be online at the same time. Assuming your Switch is your accounts "Primary", your daughter would play the game on your Switch, using her profile, BUT in airplane mode and you use the other Switch using your profile (online). As far as I know, that's how it always worked but virtual game cards has obfuscated the process with this new settings I think.
Will also be in Kilcullen tonight, so if anyone needs one i can collect in the waterford store and bring there if someone wants?
I have a pre order that i'm not going to collect in the Waterford store, if anyone is looking for one?
Probably better guide out there but saw on IGN about playing the same game on 2 systems
https://www.ign.com/wikis/nintendo-switch-2/Nintendo_Switch_2_Launch_Guide#Playing_the_Same_Game_on_Two_Systems_at_Once
I don't need it so haven't tried but might help you.
I think I’ll wait for a few more games to come out but enjoy everyone. I love the pictures of the queues outside the shops, brings back memories
Just got in curry's liffey valley 3 left
I still haven't received mine from Smyths and I haven't been sent a delivery time for today yet either…..
Initial thoughts are that it's more of a Switch 1.5 than a Switch 2. It's a nice upgrade on the original Switch but not a transformative leap. The only real system seller new game is Mario Kart World. Personally, I'm looking forward to a new Mario or Zelda arriving, however long into the future that will be.
One nice feature I've noticed is that it's a lot quieter than the Steam Deck. I generally play it at night in bed and the Steam Deck can get very loud but this stays quiet.
Any tutorial on how to buy from non EU eshops?
First impressions: set-up is reasonably straightforward, touch and feel is lovely, MKW is a blast (as noted above, Rainbow Road is so gorgeous; the Dino track is another stand-out), transfer of individual games across is so easy, and BOTW upgrade looks stunning - I only played a bit of the Great Plateau but it feels like I'm playing it for the first time…
I'm impressed but not completely blown away - reminds me more of the Wii/Wii U upgrade than the Wii U/Switch one. For my daughter though, this being the first new platform release that she was fully engaged with, the excitement levels are off the charts.
I bought a year of Switch Online + Expansion Pack but now my brother has bought a Family Bundle one… Can I join his plan and get the money I paid back?… Also when you are using family does he just send my account a link or how does it work?
