Finally
One seal open on ours, two very happy kids + 0ne happy adult
Tomorrow evening/Saturday morning could be a good time to check Smyths as I believe that’s when uncollected preorders will be put back into the system.
Cheers - will try that 👍️
Try Currys if you have one local. The one I was in had a few non-MK available on the shop floor earlier.
No Mans Sky on this is just lovely
Seeing the posts about broken seals, I menat to check mine when I was collecting it but forgot. The top seal was cut.
Our DPD driver couldn’t find our house apparently - Package has been returned to depot. I’ll have to pick it up from them tomorrow. Ah well!!
No issues with seals this morning from what I remember? Could it be the packaged them all then had to reopen them due to Mario Kart. The code was hidden away.
Looking online it seems it's widespread across multiple retailers, including Nintendo themselves. One person was told it was just poor quality seals.
My Switch and MK World arrived late but got there in the end!
Seal was intact on Mario one from Smyths. Code was in the box and fine.
No seal on a standard edition one, again from Smyths.
Could have been worse. Could have been stapled...

Anyone else having issues with the joysticks? Y Axis on the orange joycon2 doesn't work at all. Can't even complete calibration.
Great to see scalpers get a good kicking on this launch.
Anyone get fast fusion?
Discovered this evening that the cheaper Cyberpunk from the Japanese EShop does not have English voice overs!
Nooo!
But!
It's a brief download from the same EShop to get the English voices, happy days again!
Yes. Only played a few races, it looks great but pretty basic gameplay. Thankfully it’s only 15 quid.
….
Cheers, will give it a miss until it's on sale.
Had my console at 100% this evening when I came home from work. Unplugged it and went to get dinner. Came back about an hour later and it was down to 65% and quite hot. Thought I'd some weird battery drain but then I remembered all my games were downloading in the background 🤦♂️
Yup. mine was too
Well, I've played Fast Fusion more than Mario Kart today. The racing is hard and trying to win credits to unlock new ships as well as new tracks. The music in this game is awesome. Playing co-op is a great laugh.
My seal on my box was also broken. But only the outer box that said Mario cart world. The bar code from the inner box had to be scanned and printed to put on the outer box, that's what I heard. Not sure how true it is.
I'm really loving the new switch, trying out old games to see how well they run. All the Zelda's from the switch 1 have improvement to vast improvement. Only downside is battery life and trying to adjust the icons for HDR mode. I run the Switch on LG Oled had to put it in vivid mode to make the colours pop. That has really been my first day checking out different stuff on the switch. Happy gaming people.
Ah lads, Rainbow Road is amazing!
Initial impressions are very good, solid console and gorgeous screen. One thing though compared to my neon red/blue Switch 1 - I miss the brightly coloured joy-cons! Hopefully they’ll make a comeback soon.
Its a bargain at 15 quid, if you like Wipeout and F Zero type gameplay give it a go.
Looks absolutely lovely on a nice TV
That is SO satisfying
Probably need to give the European office a call. If you can remember the password it seems to be something you can do from a browser but not the switch.
I don't know if this is a new thing but up until a few months ago myself and the daughter were able to play downloaded games on my account using both our switches at the same time
It seems that functionality has been removed with the arrival of virtual game cards… Was good while it lasted I guess
Anybody know where there is any available my son is mad to spend his communion money
I bought a year of Switch Online + Expansion Pack but now my brother has bought a Family Bundle one… Can I join his plan and get the money I paid back?… Also when you are using family does he just send my account a link or how does it work?
First impressions: set-up is reasonably straightforward, touch and feel is lovely, MKW is a blast (as noted above, Rainbow Road is so gorgeous; the Dino track is another stand-out), transfer of individual games across is so easy, and BOTW upgrade looks stunning - I only played a bit of the Great Plateau but it feels like I'm playing it for the first time…
I'm impressed but not completely blown away - reminds me more of the Wii/Wii U upgrade than the Wii U/Switch one. For my daughter though, this being the first new platform release that she was fully engaged with, the excitement levels are off the charts.
