The Hyundai INSTER sub-compact EV with 355km range will be officially released later this month. It was teased today and based on the CASPER ICE model available in some markets. Thoughts?

In your monthly section, inster registrations, it seems that there were 122 new registrations in the month of May, moving the inster from the place 103 to the 74th passing the tesla model y, and just one unit away from the nissan leaf. With more deliveries planned for the month of June let's see how far does the inster go.
My dealer said this shipment that came in a few days ago is supposed to have approx 250 Insters in it. …and they're just getting warmed up as I understand.
Mine landed in Cork last thursday so in May but what month will that be if not picked until this week?

How do you know your one arrived in Cork? Did the dealer just send you an update? Or are you able to get the VIN or some sort of tracking number to use to track it?
The dealer told me - in my case. I don't think there's any tracking web site for Ireland.
I saw a lorry with a few Insters on it heading north out of Sligo, if anyone is waiting on one from Divers' in Letterkenny (well, I presume that's where they're heading!).
Even before it landed in Cork, the VIN was assigned to my name. I still await delivery!! supposedly being "valetted" at the moment but am now carless for first time in nearly ** years as sold my previous one today. Still paperwork to be done and reg to get before can insure/collect.
Has anybody any recommendations for a spare wheel that fits the inster ?
Did anyone insure their Inster with Allianz?
They don't find the model as they only have Standard Range, Long Range and Cross on their system.
So no Elegance or Signature, while the VRT shows these of course.
They stressed multiple times that the model must match exactly.
They referred the case to the underwriters therefore.
Just got reg no and hope to collect tomorrow so will be doing insurance with Axa… let you know. Would Long Range be the Elegance? Did you get a quote? try a different broker/company??
Hyundai's press announcement at the time indicated the standard range as 42kWh and long range as 49kWh.

Hyundai Ireland (?) in charge of the naming convention - signature and elegance, could have linked them together.
Forgot about insurance quotes thanks for the reminder!! Hopefully mine arrives in the country mid June as quoted so I can get going with some prep stuff like that, won't pick up until July 1st regardless
Yeah got mine covered with Allianz , the elegance as long range, I just sent the order form to underwriters on the myallianz webpage and made sure the sum insured was correct.
When I got mine, crikey it's 4 months old! It came with a type 2 cable in a white carboard box which I still haven't opened and a type1 (Granny) one in a round bag with Hyundai branding on it, thats what I've been using since I got it.
I also got three tow hooks for some reason and theres a small air compressor and some sort of puncture repair stuff as well.
And I haven't seen another Inster anywhere!

Just collected our Khaki Signature. I can't believe I can remotely adjust the front seat heaters 😁 Waiting for this since 2020. Our e-Niro couldn't do this and our Ioniq 5 Platinum can't do this. Wooooow 👏👏👏
Just got mine also…. nice feature is the side mirrors fold on activation of lock on fob. I wonder if the windows left open close also? I had that on a previous car and assumed it was feature of next only to come back to flooded car at airport parking.

oh now I see there is window opening and closing on the key fob…. nice to open all windows on a hot day. I have seen two in past 3 mths since booking it. Mastered the Zappi today too… just had to work out how to get the cable out (need to 'stop' charge via the Myengergi app first).
Do you not have a type 2 charger at home Fionn? They dont recommened using the Granny cable all the time due to its slow charge rate…
Charging slowly doesn't really matter if you're in no rush and not doing big KMs every day.

Nope. They all have thermal monitoring and overload protection. There is no issue other than making sure you use a properly protected outdoor or indoor socket and the circuit you use isn't overloaded. You're only pulling a max of 10 amps which is well within the capability of a 13 amp circuit. I used one myself for months before getting a dedicated charger.
There’s almost no sound coming out of the tweeters near the door mirrors (6-speaker 49 kw models) even with the sound moved forward, and the dynamic volume-speed control doesn’t seem to have any effect. I’m finding it hard to hear things as I transition to dual carriageway or motorway. Any tips or thoughts?
I don't have a type 2 charger fitted and yeah I've read conflicting accounts about best practices, depending who you talk to theres different opinions. I just haven't gotten around to it and I'm wondering if I need it. My usage is probably very different to the average motorist. I dont comute so the mileage is very low, I'm probably charging once a week so pretty low. I did check the socket to see if it was heating up, but very little as far as I could tell. There's an outdoor plug fitted and a earth rod and all that, this was done recently when I had solar panels fitted, had to get a new fuseboard and meter etc. the battery is usually between about 65% to 80% soI don't need to charge that much and so far haven't been in a position where fast charging was needed.
