Starting to fill up here now. big crowd to come in hopefully. Senior camogie team very poor. Not at the races at all. I think I counted 3 scores from play. A lot of work for tommy shefflin to do.
Currently 8 people in the terrace so you won't be alone 😂
No I don’t want to be in there by myself is all!!
Ah there should be plenty of room
will there be many in the terrace do you think?
anyway Anthony Daly’s headline this morning on the Independent says it all. The very best of luck to the U20’s today some boost if we can win.
Lenihans, Carroll’s,Egan’s and OGormans no flags the business’s that make the most out of the crowds on match days. Absolutely disgraceful and I’ll be letting them know this evening win or lose. The County Council were also requested last week to put up bunting on the roundabouts and they also did **** all and they would be on about creating business in the City. They have no problem organising running events and closing down the City because the powers that be are involved in running?
The very best of luck to our lads today. As someone living on the border and working with Tipp lads every day, I really do hope we can get over the line.
Fair play to the County Board and the clubs for the level of push they are giving to pursuade fans to go to the u20 final today. I have a feeling that Kilkenny fans will come out in numbers to support this team after being outnumbered at the minor final last year.
Where is a good place to park today in Kilkenny, I’ll either be coming in the freshford road or the Tullaroan road
Sorry for giving an honest opinion. I really should buy into modern society " they are all great hurlers and wonderful people and are all good enough to win tomorrow and play for Kilkenny seniors". How dare I discuss a teams chances of winning or losing an all Ireland final in detail.
Was buying tickets earlier, looks like the new stand is sold out, tickets available for all other areas
Good to see Timmy Kelly back after suspension
Hopefully the cup will stay in Nolan Park 💪🏻
well Krazy, no not quite 15 more like 12 but you would expect a lot of locals to purchase tomorrow.
Hope some supporters can at least get in for the 2nd half of the camogie game.big game in the group v waterford
Anyone have any idea how many tickets have been sold? Surely over 15 thousand.
On paper that does look a strong tipp team for tomorrow..but I like the look of our lads..as others have said different forwards played well in each of the games..the backs and midfield look solid and the goalie seems very good..the change we made on the free taking has worked well too..
As a kilkenny man living and working in tipp i really hope we can put in a great performance and win a title…one of my biggest achievements is rearing my sons to 16 and they still support kilkenny..even though they play gaa and live in tipp..hopefully tomorrow isnt the beginning of a change..the 3 of us will be definitely travelling in kilkenny colours tomorrow anyway..
Neary is a fair hurler, he's a very important link in the Kilkenny game plan. He won't be marking a Tipp forward so the only way they'll target him is to try mark him themselves, which would be a risk given their own game plan as it sacrifices a body. If Tipp do that it will be good news for Kilkenny, and would show a lack of confidence in their own set up.
It’s not so much long ball to the edge of the square all the time but more use the physicality of the big men we have play to there strengths Marty murphy and McDermott have been closer to our half back line at times in the past 3 matches instead of being further up the field
Fair enough. Wasn't aware of that.
Yeah Tipp will be a different beast, if they start losing short possession we could be in for a long afternoon. I think Tipp will target Neary, out of all the backs so far he is the least i am impressed with to date, he has plenty to tidy up on. He has a name but counts for nothing on the big stage
I think there's a bit of a shadow over this team because of the loss to a Derek McGrath coached Laois side in the Minor semi in 2022. Anything can happen with chaps that are 15/16, as we saw last summer…. and Laois were very competitive that year pushing Offaly to 3 points, and we know what a good outfit that Offaly team were.
it's unfair to define them on that loss, and it's also worth remembering that we threw away the Leinster semi final last year for more than one reason, so I'm guessing and hoping that this team is coming in under the radar and is far better than their results historically. As I said before, it's backboned by 2 high class Kieran's All Ireland winning teams and there are some very good hurlers not even making the 24.
I think it'll be a close game, and I give us a great chance. We're never too far away when we are underdogs. A win would be a huge deal for the county.
I think they have done very well, but wonder about the quality of the opposition. Tipp will be by some distance the best team they have faced all year and are hot favourites. They have enough pressure on their shoulders without anyone making out they owe us something because of the minors loss last year. This game will be played on its merits and leave it at that. I have said before we will get as many from last years minors as Tipp, just like Offaly did from the '22 final loss. We are having a good year underage so far ,may turn out to be a great year, so to hell with fear of losing ,you can't win it if you are not in it.
Absolutely Marooned, no reason why the home crowd shouldn't be worth a few points to us.
Not sure why people think we're all of a sudden going to start going long after playing with an extra defender and playing it through the hands all year. Murphy and McDermott got one point between them against Dublin so can't see management saying let's change everything and rely on these lads now.
There seems to be a lot of confidence around the place but I don't share it. At all.
Fingers crossed I'm wrong. Wouldn't be the first time and won't be the last.
I think if we play a good mix of short stuff and direct ball we ll be in the mix they definetly overdid the short passing in the last 2 games the Laois game in particular
If the long ball into Marty is working they should keep bloody doing it and make hay don’t just go short for the sake of it
Was wondering what the story was as tipp have done a great job of getting out of Munster again was sure why Cummins was getting so much heat
What’s killing us on Saturday is the embarrassment of last year . If this hadn’t happened I wouldn’t mind getting bet by a better team it would still mean progress, but as it stands it is vital to win. Losing in Nowlan park two years in a row is a frightening prospect. I heard there was a few comments on social media about our lack of support I would have to agree wholeheartedly with that. There is always an excuse not to go. Oh I always follow the hurling, watching the match on the TV at home or in the pub isn’t a follower.i know there are people who cannot go for various reasons but I am not hitting at them.again the cost might be a problem but some lads complain about the price and they will still be swilling lots of pints watching the match.priorities my hole.
.
The other two are on the senior panel.
