Footage too graphic to post. Must be dozens of people ran over by a car in a packed street.
I don't know how squeaky clean they were(it was said they had no previous convictions), but we seen a number of teenagers sentenced today alone for their part in mob "justice" in the retaliatory killing, in a restaurant in Blanchardstown a couple of years ago.
Going by the above videos it looks like he panicked and thought he was gonna get lynched himself.
How he ended up on the road full of people needs investigating. Really hope there’s no serious casualties.
Reports are the road had just reopened.
Can't see how the car hits people by accident. I came across a few cars leaving the Gaelic Grounds with 30,000 other people yesterday and there was cars in the mix. Some were absolute arrogant prcks and were acting very provocatively but no way you could just not see a crowd like that.
I'll be shocked if this isn't terror related.
I really hope it was a panic incident as opposed to deliberate. Awful to think any person could deliberately do this. Did he happen upon the scene, make a driving mistake, panic with fear and take off and compound it….
Im thinking panic
That first video sure looks like someone who drove into the wrong area and is now panicking.
Having watched more videos, you'd wonder did the driver panic after finding himself where he shouldn't have been, surrounded initially and coming under attack. Then he might have thought he's going to get lynched and tried to get out of there. But he just made things worse. Like when you see at the end, where he stops, he could have kept going, but he didn't.
yes. This could well be what happened..
Similar to what happened up north in 1988 when the two soldiers ended up trapped during an IRA funeral. Panic sets in and you act so quickly to escape due to fear.
Embedding above video
Id say he paniced, looks horrific . I was at the Everton/Goodison farewell last week, surprised me that the road was not closed for coach arrival given crowds, one car just gave up and abondened car. Does not take much to close a road off for a few hours on a bank holiday.
That's exactly what it looks like. People getting annoyed cos he was there, kicking his car, throwing stuff and trying to get at him. The fear of the mob seems to have just kicked in. A horrible incident but it doesn't seem deliberate.
Don't know about Liverpool but in Ireland closed roads still allow local access for many events.
The road was no longer closed for this incident though. It had reopened.
roads would close completly for special events, a marathon (not all day , but for a few hours.
The little footage i've seen doesn't look like someone in a panic. They turn into a crowd of people instead of driving straight ahead.
Whether the road was officially opened or not, it's clearly full of people so I dont buy the panic angle.
Very sad and after glossing over the title win
Thats not anyone in any sort of panic.
The man in custody is 53. Nobody gets to that age, with a driving licence, and panics at the sight of a busy street. They just stop.
This was deliberate. And its a wonder to me that the person was arrested alive, and not lynched by the crowd that descended on the car.
hearing at least 3 dead!!
also I thought i saw after his car had been wrecked by people there there was a buggy or something similar in the boot of the car which wouldn't track with it being deliberate as generally those types of attacks are committed by loners.
Watch this one.

Doesn't look like someone who's intending to plow through people.
one eye witness implying it was more his anger with crowd than panic that saw him do this. If so, that’s horrific!!!
After the covid title win with no fans and not being able to celebrate and now this. Just an awful turn of events.
Hopefully no deaths or serious injuries
And I think that's why he panicked, people were kicking his car, throwing stuff and trying to pull open his door, regardless if you think he panicked or not you have no idea how he or you would react in this situation.
Looks more like anger/frustration than panic to me, particularly with the horn beeping.
After he's accosted and his door is opened he beeps to try to get away, then something is thrown through his back window, clearly panicking and in fear.
even the beeping of the horn seemed more angry than polite and advisory and panicked: Prolonged beeping sounds.
Accosted?
Not on X refuse to use it because of Musk thanks.
The video i've seen is a car deliberately driving into a crowd of people
Police are expected to give a news conference at about 22:30 according to the Beeb. They'll show it live here: https://www.bbc.com/news/live/cn5xnlkegz0t
I'm not on X either for the same reason, you can view the video without an account.
Yes one person is shown asking others what the fcuk they are doing and trying to clear them away as they're approaching the car hitting it and shouting abuse.
