Do you remember any ?
I always liked that Perfecto mix of Even Better Than the Real Thing. It was even better than the original mix!
I remember this from around 2000.
It was 1999, just to confirm.
She's So Lovely by Scouting For Girls.
This song pops back into my head randomly every now and again. Can't remember the last time I actually heard it on the radio but it used to be played multiple times a day every day for a short while about 15 years ago.
It could also be one for the "Music acts many people wouldn't know are still going" thread but Paradise have a new single out tomorrow.
Wow, I had no idea!!!!
Was looking at some old ads on YouTube and found it at 10:45, the ad is a load of smug, self-satisfied bollox.
They also had 'Elvis Ain't Dead'
A band that's best left in 2008.
Late 2007
Both the track and the remix are surprisingly from 1991 (Oakenfold/Osborne were the kings of the dance remix of a rock track back then).
Definitely worked thematically in the early 00s though.
…………………
From 2003, a house track that reached #28 in the UK.
Saffron Hill & Ben Onono - "My Love Is Always"
2010 but I guess 2010 was the 00s in all but name.
Small observation. When I watched MTV growing up, they pretty much never played Clubland-style dance music, and preferred house whenever they did play dance music. I think that could be why Clubland TV (17 years on and still going strong) was set up.
I remember when "Dragostea Din Tei" came out and the only time I ever saw it on MTV was on ringtone adverts!
agreed and their mix of lemon is brilliant as well.
Another Springsteen track, heard it a fair bit during Summer 2002.
From the year 2000, German group Band öhne Namen ("Band Without a Name") with "Boys".
"With the stench from Neil's arse still hot in my nostrils, we headed for Nemesis…"
Another year 2000 track, it's the B15 Project with "Girls like Us". Fun fact: band member Angus Campbell is related to the Campbell brothers from UB40!
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Andy, Ant and Steve Scott-Lee - brothers of Lisa from Steps. Together they are 3SL, and this is "Touch Me, Tease Me", originally by Case (vocalist on "Livin' It Up" by Ja Rule).
One of the Foos' less-remembered tracks, "The One", from the Orange County soundtrack.
I recall Lisa managing them and after 3SL flopped, she launched her solo career with "Lately" also to minor success.
I think The Great Defector by Bell X1 still gets semi-regular airplay, remember this being on non-stop around February/March 2006, haven't heard it in a long time.
………..
……………….
OK, how about a truly forgotten Nelly Furtado song?
This is "Powerless (Say What You Want)".
There was pretty much no getting around Akon in 2005-09 or so. Here is his 2008 collaboration with Canadian rapper Kardinal Offishall, "Dangerous".
Just remembered this sh1te song from summer 2005
I like it actually!
He was on songs by everyone from Lady Gaga to Gwen Stefani, David Guetta to Nelly... and... Bone Thugs N Harmony.
He hasn't had a real hit since "Play Hard" with David Guetta and Ne-Yo back in 2013. And come to think of it, Ne-Yo hasn't either...
