That’s right, I have shortcuts to turn off lane assist, speed alerts and then change ESC.
Currently use individual mode, all to sport with DCC set in the middle between Comfort and Sport.
Yes, you will also need a 5 mm spacer so it will clear the front calipers.
Mine has been built and is awaiting shipment. Hopefully it gets here in a few weeks which is when I will be next updated supposedly.
Mine took about 5 weeks from being built to collecting it.
Looking at used id3s under 20k as our second car, the trim levels are a bit confusing but I'm just wondering from owners is there any I should be looking to avoid? I'd like the highest spec as we've a 251 R Line Tiguan so would ideally like to have as much of the nice stuff that has in this though am realistic too. The 58kwh is fine too as this won't go much further than 10km trips so no need for extra range. Couple of ones I've seen and like below for reference, is there any benefit to buying from a main dealer? I assume these are all out of warranty period now anyway? Battery is 8 years/160km I think right? Frank Keane one seems a better option with that in mind from what I can see online.

The second one is gone already. I would say any ID3’s interior will be a marked step down from a 251 Tiguan R so make sure to sit in one first. Get one with heated seats, steering wheel etc as they’ll be useful for short drives on cold days.
Yeah I know the interior is a bit of an acquired taste but I think I'm ok with it once it functions similarly, heated seats are required allright as wife won't do without it but the main things I'd want are travel assist or at least ACC. Finding it difficult to tell what spec has what online. Plan is to take one a test drive and see how I get on. I'd prefer a Cupra born but they're closer to 25k and just doesn't feel worth stretching to.
I could be wrong but afaik the only iD.3's with travel assist were the top spec models. That could change on new models but you are looking at used cars aren't you?
This has been posted a few times in the past, but it's easier just to post again.
2021 ID3 Spec's
I was shocked to discover that there are no rear speakers in the back of the Id3, well not my spec anyway. Maybe the top of the range have.
And no reversing camera as well. Really miss them when you get used to them. Mine is a Style. I think all the editions above style come with it.
Thanks for that PDF, I went looking on Volkswagen but couldn't find it. On travel assist, I'd prefer to have it than not but can live with just ACC if it's rare. May well be back to the drawing board anyway as wife saw one in person today and wasn't overly enthused.
Maybe look at a used Enyaq instead if you can get one for €20K ? Far more upmarket interior etc. A sportline would be very close to your Tiguan for spec.
Agree on the car choice, Enyak a better car. But doubt there will be any Sportline at €20k for a while.
This is currently the cheapest Enyak for sale @ €21,950.
Yes, €20K will be tight. There was a nice Enyaq 80 for €20K asking last week on DD. Unsurprisingly it sold within days. A 60 sportline with a bit of mileage should be similarly priced. There could be a good few early models traded for the new facelift Enyaqs in the coming weeks.
Definitely a nicer place to be allright but not seeing any sportlines less than 30k. Probably too much car for our needs too, really only likely to ever be one of us in it as the Tiguan is the family car.
try a high spec 2021 like a tour or a tech spec. They are brilliant cars. I still miss mine. It’s much handier than a bigger car for the wee handy runs as well as very capable for cross country trips for work etc.
A worse electric car (range, charging) but a nice interior with lots of toys for a city car is an eGolf in Executive Spec. Inster, BMW i3 are other options. Earlier lesser spec ID3 are very Spartan in the interior.
ID.3 Pure has been put through its paces by Bjorn Nyland on YouTube in recent days and he is impressed by the cheapest EV in VW's range
Good call but they’re still relatively expensive considering the battery size. Cheapest Exec model at the moment; https://www.donedeal.ie/view/39537413
I agree but your paying for the spec. Interestingly afaik there's no executive spec in the UK.
If I wanted range and tech the ID3 wins hands down. But nice interior it isn't. If it was cheap and I was hammering up and down the country ID3 all day long. But for 10k journeys lots of other choices.
Poor man's EV hecalls it. Id argue the base model new ID3 even in basic spec has now has decent interior and upgraded software is decent. Fast charging makes up for a smaller battery in most use cases. It's a lot of bang for the buck.
Yes, it was an Ireland only edition to maximise grants and a BIK exemption as a company car. Full info here;

Hadn't even heard of the eGolf. How bad is the range? Don't want to be charging it too often but does seem like a good option.
Yes, they’re a rare machine as they were very expensive new. Range would be 180Km winter - 240Km summer approx.
Depends on how you drive. We get 150 winter 200 summer, some say more. We charge at around 20% up to 90%. Never really run it down lower. With home charging you just keep it topped up. We drive out flat out, AC on. Ours Rarely leaves the city though. Though I have done Dublin Kerry in two short stops.
There are better options if you want to do long journeys or charge once a fortnight.
I much prefer the face lift ID3 for all the little revisions, software etc. I didn't love the touch controls on the early models. Though some people like them.
Go test drive a drive a few cars see what you and she likes.
initially yes they were expensive, but they dropped by 10k to just under 30k in 2020, i assume this was to clear stock before ID3 was launched later that year.
For most people, E golf is an ideal 2nd car
Lovely car. I had one for a year before changing to an ID3 Style. Old world cosseted interior - ventilated leather seats, plush materials , quiet and very smooth to drive it. The biggest trip I had was 150km round trip starting with full battery at 225km and getting home with 75km GOM remaining. I changed up to the ID3 mainly to get more range for longer trips. Interior quality of the ID3 was a comedown I felt at the time.
Egolf is lovely car. If it had 60kwh battery would be perfect car.
So a new issue with the car this week. Charging socket error please visit workshop appeared while driving the car. It continued driving fine until I stopped. At that point it wouldn't re-engage drive mode as it thought there was a cable plugged in. Had to get it towed to the garage.
Let's see what turns up.
Jesus.
