I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
I see the Red Clay Strays announced a night in Dublin.
what’s the national stadium like as a venue, I’ve never been?
asking that question is like setting off a bomb in here. Sound has been great/superb for any show I’ve been there in last few years. No bad views or sound from any seat in the building. aesthetically the bar area is 1970’s GAA clubhouse, but your only there to grab cans etc and get back to the concert area. could do with a few more toilets given capacity.
Bar's ****, toilets are ****, an awkward spot to get home from if the gig runs after 11 on a weekday, and seated tickets on the floor aren't actually seated.
The actual gigs are usually to a fairly high standard though.
Werent you saying Gracie Abrams and Sabrina Carpenter were supposed to be announced for there months ago ??

The venue itself is like something from Reeling in the Years where'd you see old men with no teeth smoking Woodbine and drinking dodgy looking pints.
If you did a "Sh1t retro style Irish hall" themed venue you couldn't replicate it. Its too sh1t.
That said, both sound and line of sight are excellent which is 99% of what matters.
someone else posted about Sabrina in aviva (which given her tour dates lines up). heard Gracie abrams was for marlay. Her tour dates line up for it as well. but plans can change until the show is officially announced nothing is ever guaranteed. Can always end up being pulled until announcement day

Perfect description. Ive always enjoyed any gig I've gone to there.
There have been couple of complaints about the bar. But I thought it was fine. Go in, get a bottle of Heineken or can of Guinness, get your own plastic cup, pour the drink and back into the venue within 2 minutes.
I'd say it's only a 2 km walk to Dame Street - a little over a mile. You'd be in town centre quicker than queueing and getting a luas after 3Arena gig.
Agreed on the National Stadium. The bar at the back is quick & easy, no frills. Note that if booking seats, anything near the front you have people standing right in front and the seat height means you would effectively need to stand. Other than that it is a good venue for a gig. Leonards Corner is a nice pub, great selection of beers!

The National Stadium for all its antiqauted issues is a great venue for live music. And the staff are always really friendly.
Yup what a winner for TM to bust out of initial sales and now the it's crawling back to them for umpteen resales and reap the fees from them.
I can alter my plans/expenses for south of 60 myself, 178 or whatever can just accept I won't be there.
Agree on this. The lovely wife was waiting nearly a half hour for the women's toilets post comedy gig last week. They just arbitrarily closed some of the few they had open.
"Floor seating" if there is any is free standing chairs.
The bar (my old college bar 🫣) served pretty fast to be fair and the folks working it are great but it's like a community hall set up.
I've enjoyed the gigs I've been to there, visibility and sound have never been an issue but the venue itself is creaky as fűck.

Bernard Butler was good last night in Dublin, he doesn't have the voice for the Suede or McAlmot tunes.. but it's fine on his own stuff. Ordinary but serviceable.
Some fantastic playing though. Just him and a double bass, seems a really likeable guy and talked a lot, so a nice night of music for 25e.

London has thousands of tickets left for the second date. Manchester isnt sold out either.
The only UK date sold out is Glasgow.

I know it's probably not that simple with touring logistics but could have done 3Arena night before or after. Guess if they could they would have though
Like I said there is no room for an additional date.
21st would be 4 nights in a row so unfeasible.
23rd out as she is in Amsterdam the following night and no way they would get the stage there on time.
3 arena could be booked either side of it and given it’s her first headline show here they may have erred on caution with rds than jumping into 3 arena
Nah, 3arena was booked for the only night in Dublin that worked. Look at some of the smaller names who play in the 3Arena. Lorde would handily sell it out and could probably justify a second night.
