Well it is, because that would be two sets, so far more than just one fee for his festival appearance. Playing his own curated residency at MOT for several nights is a bit different than a DJ set after a festival appearance, which he has pretty much never done on this tour. Not sure what your point is about people playing the afterparties 10 years ago has to do with it, they would have been paid handsomely to make a second appearance too.
Kilimanjaro and C.Frim have just been announced as two of those "Special Guest" slots, so the idea that they'll have splashed megabucks for a Jamie xx DJ set is pretty much zero.
Be lucky to get Mall Grab or Effy at in that Centre Point special guest slot at this rate
Caribou is djing fidelity as part of FF afters this year. He isn’t getting mega bucks to dj a 180 cap venue. the forbidden fruit afters fees are built in to festival fee and no is paid mega bucks/handsomely for the afters ever.
Who's gonna be the SpecialGuest in Centre Point on the Saturday? Last time I was in there was Flight Facilities, excellent night.

Yeah, I had to dig around and found the link on Fidelitys Instagram story. It was left off the FF website, when all the others were put up there, and then only added today after they went on sale.
And agreed, he's playing from 11-1. Hardly "All Night Long", which now isn't on the Fidelity promo guff or the event description. Given that the main stage finishes at 10:45, most people at the festival won't even catch the start.
Should have had it at a venue with a club licence to close at 2:30, but that would have cost more (despite the assertion from our resident promoter spokesperson that these acts are essentially appearing for free).
Mostly, there were a few available this morning but sold out straight away.
Despite FF saying that these gigs were exclusively for those going to the day festival, the tickets were a free for all for anyone that wanted to buy them.
I'd imagine the majority of people who bought tickets aren't going to the festival itself. I definitely know a few that just bought tickets for Fidelity.
Tbh fidelity suits him perfectly sound wise and sure all Caribou fans love to be home by 1:30am given their age. Sure all the other late venues have other acts that night. 20 minute walk between imma and fidelity, won’t miss a lot.
I have to confess that in the WhatsApp chat between the group of old fogies that I bought tickets for, the early finish has indeed been referred to as a positive :)
Whoever decided to put "all night long" in the marketing for it is taking the p1ss for sure though…
Usually the fidelity shows are all night long, default language on the marketing that’s now been removed. Errors happen

New 360 degree Lighthouse stage set-up announced on Instagram plus stage breakdown (Dart and X Club added to line-up).
So Ping Pong Disco will come with its own set of DJs and acts not listed on the line-up I guess - looks like I'll have plenty of things to keep me occupied over the weekend :)
