The Hyundai INSTER sub-compact EV with 355km range will be officially released later this month. It was teased today and based on the CASPER ICE model available in some markets. Thoughts?
Tomboy Khaki with the roof bars and bike racks I fitted this morning. Very happy with the colour. Saw white and Ivory models when I was picking it up yesterday. Both also look very nice. Really pleased with the car so far. Big smile on my face when driving it (I'm not a car person but I love this one).
@feedec, it looks great; well wear!
Lovely colour.
Very nice, well wear. Just ordered it in Buttercream this morning (should get it for July). Khaki probably the nicest exterior (mild FOMO now on not going for it 😄) but we were sold on the launch edition interior.
With sales guy today … has been two price inc since I ordered in early March and another due in July.
Mine will be used a lot for mountain biking so black interior a much better option for me (especially during the manky\mucky winter months). I really like the launch edition interior colour\pattern though.
Would you not be better with a mountain bike?
Looks mighty! What roof bars did you go for?
Can't afford both 🤣
Went for the Thule roof bars, own brand as opposed to the Hyundai branded Thule ones. They looked a bit different, sat a lot lower.
These ones https://www.thule.com/en-ie/roof-rack/car-roof-racks/thule-wingbar-edge-_-95xx
I have the launch edition too - I love the interior, really makes it stand out from the crowd. Khaki would go perfectly with it. It's a real shame that car makers don't allow all options in all territories. I looked into getting it wrapped but it would have been 2.4k to get it done properly and I really couldn't justify it considering the value of the car, limited lifespan of the wrap and the cost of getting it removed.
@feedec well wear, love the colour, refreshing from all the dull grey, silver and black cars we see on the roads.
Nice to see newly registered small cars on the roads today, it will be a blast riding that around town and parking.
Post some internal pics.
Thanks, sure it's all black on the inside, you wouldn't see anything 😂
Few observations,
There's quite a bit of room in the boot under the shelf, more than I was expecting.
With the back seats pushed forward there's also a lot more boot room than I was expecting.
When you put it into sports mode it's got a lot of acceleration from a standstill, more than I got the impression it would have from all online reviews. It's not something I look for or expect in a car but is still a lot of fun.
The four "morse" LEDs on the steering wheel go red when you're in reverse. Nice gimmicky touch.
Sound system is really good, better than our 232D Tucson PHEV.
Took it up to 130kmh on the M50/N11, it was rock solid and surprisingly quiet. There was a bit of vibration through the steering wheel at around the 110kmh mark which stopped at about 115kmh. Not enough that I'd be bringing it to the dealer for a tyre change so I guess this isn't the level of the issue people had mentioned on posts back in Feb.
As said earlier, I'm not into cars but just love driving this car around.
Spotted this in Omni Shopping centre today. Looks a bit like an Inster but crazy that it costs more.
Ignus?
Yep
Got the top spec Elegance inster in Drogheda last week (after 5 months waiting for it to be shipped!). So far, it is better in just about every way than our beloved E-Soul, except size.
But I have already benefitted from its ease of parking in tight car parks.
Ask if you have any Qs.
Has anyone noticed any inconsistency with the wireless charging pad for the phone? It doesn't seem to work all the time. I'm not sure is it related to position or orientation or whether the car is up and running or what, but there does seem to be something funny going on.
Well they'll definitely see you coming with the orange car and high Vis suspenders 😂
Lovely colour though, the orange really suits the car.
I was having a very hard time trying to decide on a colour, my 3 finalists were the orange, the khaki and the blue mate, I'm glad I didn't go for the blue as I would be waiting still. I still don't know if I did the right choice when you don't see the side to side. Glad too see a lot of people getting their cars in May
Looks great in the sunshine 🌞 congrats. Let us know how the driving goes
Putting the phone in bottom first seemed to be the trick for mine, which I wouldn't say is the most intuitive.
Is Bluelink down for anyone else?
Yes. “Network error”.
Have also noticed the notification that my included “bluelink pro” subscription will end in August (after just 6 months) and we fall back to “Bluelink lite” - I wonder what the difference will be.
Out of interest, how much is the other bluelink subscriptions?
Don't suppose anyone worked out WTF this button is for?
Enable, disable parking sensors
It keeps switching them on itself if I switch them off though.
It's useful for cases when the car didn't switch them on automatically, but you still need them.
I'm honestly still confused!
Is it the case that these would normally be left on, but there might be occasions where you'd want to switch them off, in case of reversing around well known obstructions perhaps?
