Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
Thank you very much, literally have them on repeat and to find out Ill be able to see them in Cork straight after work is great only 10 mins down the road, no trip to Dublin π
I honestly thought it was gonna be cian ducrot, youre in for a treat if you just rock up and they come out on stage
If this hasn't been posted already it's a pretty tempting late November gig. The fond memories of EP 2014 remain.
these are promotional concerts timed to release of new music. Always announced last minute as part of marketing plans. Just unusual that Ireland getting them this time as usual London centric for intl bands
Thats a very nice announcement, Wolf Alice, wow, never thought Id see them in Cork.
Hopefully Ellie is wearing the outfit in the poster on stage.π
Don't know of the band Sorry but think I've seen mention here before and that people like them. Added as support for The Maccabees.
"This is also written down in our venue specs so that also artists get to know about that".
This is a quote from the venue. It's written in the specifications i.e. the terms and conditions. Venue said that it is there so that the Artist is aware of it. Of course this is advised to the artist. It may be fine print. Maybe the artist/their agent doesn't read these things, or maybe they choose to ignore it. But at the end of the day, if the rule is there in writing, then the onus is on the artist to abide by it, or if they don't agree with that, then agree something alternative with the venue.
The worst course of action is to ignore the rule, try to impose their own rules against the wishes of the venue, have the gig cancelled, and then fans have no gig to attend and are out of pocket.
Don't get me wrong, I like Murder Capital. First album was very good. I thought second album was a bit overrated. People wanted to believe it to be very good, and it didn't live up to it. I enjoy their live shows - have seen them 4 times. But I just think in this case the way they went about it was wrong.
whatβs the right away? They agreed not to use a flag as per venue rules, then venue said no to alternative suggestion of a non country flag banner. bands are playing dozens of venues, venue rules which may be communicated as an attachment in a email to the agent may not be read, communicated with the actual band themselves.
As before you're continuing to assume that all these details were passed to them. You cannot do so. From litigation experience this is often not the case and in this instance you only have the word from the venue which is currently in defensive mode. The band say that they only found out at the soundcheck.
The Gretchen also refused to allow them to use a Free Palestine banner (devoid of a flag) and the Cologne gig was also postponed for their support of Palestine but no mention of conditions. The same has happened to Lankum, Kneecap and others and there's no justification for it, particularly not blaming the acts themselves.
I'm surprised that they didn't include Galway in with Limerick & Cork. It's often that you have bands that do the three cities together.
Haven't seen Wolf Alice since 2018, but only half a set at a festival and previous to that they were the support act at Seapoint in Galway in 2014.
Wonder will The Pogues do another 'pre Christmas show'
3Arena and Olympia availability a little low the weeks before Xmas. Maybe something the week of 8th-14th Dec
Currently doing UK tour playing 'Rum Sodomy and the lash'. Guest list not as stated studded (if you want to call it that) as last December
I think you'll find that I can conclude on what I wish. And I come to the conclusion that the band/promotor/band's agent was made aware of the policy, and they choose to ignore it. You might disagree with that, and that's fine. We are not in a court of law. The venue appears to have advised that bands are made aware of their rules. As far as I know, the band have not stated anything to the contrary.
the main Galway venues are already full up, it often happens, so a logistical issue with their tight promo schedule, Cork or Limerick often looses out to Galway, thems the breaks.
Your prerogative, in the absence of any evidence, to believe the venue rather than the band. The latter have clearly, and consistently, stated that they had no idea of this policy until soundcheck. Thus I personally cannot draw a conclusion. I suggest you send any further response by PM so we don't further bore people here.
Breaking news: Seathrun66 and Fanirish are on the same side of an argument π€ππ€
had been done, you'd even liked it.
β¦.
..
Florence Road perhaps unsurprisingly added to the Olivia Rodrigo bill for Marlay Park and Hyde Park
Faithless playing Limerick (presume Dolan's) and Derry on the first weekend in Juneβ¦.Friday 6th Limerick Saturday 7th Derry
You're popping the Champagne too early beecee. Fanirish has just retired to his lair to brace himself for the EP announcement back and forth. He's tagged Flasher who's gamely entered the fray under the Murder Capital Palestinian flag and is keeping Seath occupied. Interested to see how it all plays out.
Ach, I was only 5 weeks behind. π
I'm out. When you have Fanirish and Seath gunning for ya, you know you're f#cked.
π Brilliant @Stillill42, and further good news is that I've not been on the EP thread for 7/8 months so no incoming distractions. Concluded quite some time ago that my ilk ain't that welcome in Stradbally anymore.
Have faithless got a new vocalist for live gigs since Maxi died or how is it working?
Saw them last year, yeah had a few guest vocalists, Sister Bliss still the BOSS
For Insomnia, they use Maxi's vocal with video of him projected on the screen behind
Obviously not the same, but still vv good
It worked well I thought, trying to sub in a new voice to his vocals would only ever in disappointment at best and a disaster at worst.
100%
Maybe not the last of the Faithless announcements. A reliable pal mentioned that they were looking for a Galway venue also, and the Black Box was suggested to the band. Doing small shows in Limerick and Derry only sounds a bit costly.
I'd be all over that like a rash
Please don't hold me to it. π The source is reliable but Faithless may have rejected the venue. Limerick on Friday & Derry on Saturday implies no trip back to Galway or Cork. Either of those cities could do a Thursday gig of course and maybe Dublin and/or Belfast get a look in.
