Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
In the absence of the new Leo there's always this Galway dude who's gone under the moniker of New Pope for a decade. Not the easiest artist to Google this afternoon.
He might need to good support. Get the Spin master to do set set on the decks maybe
RDS Simmonscourt…. jeez. Awful venue.
I'd be tempted to see her live but that's an awful spot for a gig. Acoustics of a potato.
She's pretty bad at singing, don't think the RDS will hinder her
Aside from some festival that was on around 10 years ago that had The Roots, Chic and Flight Facilities I think my last gig there was Interpol and I've very fond memories of that and thought sound was great but could be the excemption that proves the rule.
Anyone know how much tickets will be priced at? Definitely interested in this
Thought it was an odd choice of venue based on capacity alone. If she was tied to that date for here then My Bloody Valentine are playing 3Arena same night so could explain it.
Bit of a topsy-turvy world we're in when My Bloody Valentine shut Lorde out of the 3Arena.
Metropolis festival! Had completely forgot about that. Really enjoyed the setup.
Was Simmonscourt the main stage stage for that festival?
No, Simmonscourt wasn't used for Metropolis. Halls 1-7 in the main complex were used for it.
Was at the 1st Metropolis, great little festival. Last gig I was at in Simmonscourt was an Underworld gig. Awful soulless place.
Edit: Actually that Underworld gig was in one of the other halls.
Actually looking at that map above I'm not so sure Interpol was in Simmonscourt - probably Hall 1. If that's the case don't think I've been to a gig in Simmonscourt
Prefer the early stuff
English Teacher playing Olympia on Saturday Nov 8th. Presale is on.
22nd is a Saturday. Good support act too Shame it clashes with MBV.
Yeah Interpol was in the main hall (1). That's got a balcony. Watched a lot of that gig from up there. Can't remember how we were allowed up.
This actually reminded me that I was at Kanye in there as well. My god that was a strange gig
Downstairs seating is unreserved I think
Nearly sure U2 were there too (on balcony) I remember looking up and seeing some of them. Nice one being on the balcony for it!
If it's a standing gig, that's correct that the seating around the sides and back is unreserved. If its a fully-seated gig, its reserved.
Yeah it's a seated gig alright. Always find those tables a pain if you're going solo.
Secret gig on in Cypress Avenue, Cork May 20th. Tickets are €40. Any ideas? Fairly tasty price for the venue, wouldn’t want to commit and be stuck with Cian Ducrot or something
Posters up in town from Monday apparently.
Richard Thompson tickets at GIAF now live 🎸

Only slight fly in the ointment would be having to make it back from the All Ireland Final on time 🏐 First World problems 😎
Sometimes seats in Block E come available nearer the gig. They're the seats facing the stage on the balcony which are usually reserved for the artist and/or promoter. Keep an eye out for those as there's usually returns closer to.
Twenty One Pilots stage times for tonight:
Doors - 6:30 PM
Balu Brigada - 7:45 PM
Twenty One Pilots - 8:45 PM.
Was thinking it might be a warm up gigs for one of the acts playing the Marquee alright. Him, Picture This or Coronas maybe.
Ah good to know. Picked up a standing balcony in the end.
Saw this on r/cork, secret gig in Cyprus Avenue May 20th
Henry the Human Fly?
Misread that and thought Cypress Hill were playing Cork. I was about to grab my tickets!
Folks anyone who was at Borderline in February catch a crowd called HONESTY?
